After that Mahay performance I fully expect the
Rays to trade us David Price for him

You should really be a world class bunter.

Gathwright as 2nd hitter
I guess we can mark that off our list of options. I think he’s best as the #9, where he can’t get us into so much trouble. He’s been awful in the key “gritty” ABs usually reserved for your Gruds type slap hitters.

to the list of guys I root against so we can give up on them.
(Actually, he was already on that list)

I’ll take that, we should’ve been swept in both series.

JP Howell will have a better career than Luke Hochevar.
There, I said it.

by JobDDT on Jul 7, 2008 3:11 PM EDT 0 recs
JP is already a LH RP
Even Jimmy Gobble looked dominant in that role last year. The fact that they’ve already moved him there tells me we didn’t give up much. Didn’t get much either, but that’s another story.

that's on account of their rotation being so stacked
most of his appearances have been for an inning or more—he’s hardly a LOOGY

I don't mind Bob Davis
especially compared to Tompkins commercials. I wish I were a commercial contractor in need of rubber hoses, gaskets, and whateverthehells so I could march into a Tompkins office and tell them I’m not buying from them because of those stupid fucking ads.
Also, John Bale should be the new spokesman for Duronautic Doors. (There’s a punch! Gone!)

Very funny this pm,
Royals and fans under siege the past few days. The humor helps.
Seeing Longoria is like seeing the dorky girl from high school that had a crush on you at your high school reunion, who is now a hot astrophysicist, while you ended up with the cheerleader that is now 400 lbs.

I want Soria for 2, Alex
Seriously, he has hardly been used on this road trip.
Why screw around? If it’s still a one run game in the bottom of the 8th (and most likely, it will be!), just go straight to Soria, and let tomorrow take care of itself.

Amen
Let’s worry about having a lead on the White Sox tomorrow night if we’re lucky enough to be in that spot.

Let's go lower 4/9ths of the order
It’s up to you guys. We could really use an insurance run or two, with Mahay probably at his limit and 6 outs to go. Perhaps Ramirez can do the trick, but I’ll feel better once we get through the 8th.

that Aviles got a hit, probably only b/c it gives TJ a chance to drive in a run.

0 for 4, with 3 Ks.
How good had DDJ been this year, considering his RBI total, and the fact that batting immediately in front of him all year has been either Pena or Gathright, or sometimes both?
