John Buck's hitless streak
A short history of epic Royal slumps
Joe Keough: 45 at-bats in a row without a hit from April 16th to May 16th, 1969
Cookie Rojas: 43 at-bats in a row without a hit from August 7th to August 22nd, 1975
Chuck Harrison: 41 at-bats in a row without a hit from June 18th to July 23rd, 1971
Chad Kreuter: 40 at-bats in a row without a hit from August 10th to September 3rd, 1999
Steve Balboni: 31 at-bats in a row without a hit from April 19th to May 2nd, 1987
John Buck: 29 at-bats in a row without a hit from August 4th to August 14th, 2008
I'm sure there's more. But John Buck will have around 9 more ABs before Olivo returns to snap his streak.

Infamy
This is horrible. …I feel like I remember Balboni having several streaks like this, even if most were shorter than 20 at-bats.
Do you think Buck will save the scorecard when he breaks out? Should we take bets on what kind of hit will break the streak of infamy? I’m going with a double. – TL

What is shocking to me,
No Pena Jr. or LaRue on that list.

Nice list
Did you find that using BBref PI? I don’t know how to search for hitless streaks.

yeah
I searched for Royals by most games in a row without a hit.
Lynn Jones showed up on the list a few times too.
I could have had a longer list if I paid for PI

Gotcha
I figured it out!
Other long ones:
Tom Poquette 0-33 from April 18 to June 6, 1982
Pete LaCock 0-31 from April 23 to May 13, 1980
Poquette again 0-28 from June 16 to July 2, 1978
Terry Shumpert 0-27 from July 30 to August 18, 1993
More recently:
Jason LaRue went 0-24 last year from August 4 to August 31
He went 0-22 from July 8 to July 29
TPJ went 0-25 from April 2 to April 13 of this year

To be to Lynn Jones
he did go 20+ AB without a hit, but that’s not counting his two hits in the world series.
And I think I began noticing Shumpert shortly after the days when people seriously thought he would replace Frank White
