Amazingly, Shumpert played in fourteen big league seasons, yet never made a million dollars in a year.

He will always be a true Royal however.

I really did think

He was going to be pretty good. He had some modest power and could run a bit.

Shumpert once hit .347 and posted a 153 OPS+ in Colorado. Thank you Coors Field.

Ghola (n.)

I really don’t know if I could pick out a favorite among Frank Herbert’s Dune books. His son’s are pretty silly, but all of the old ones are good.

I really enjoyed the first few of his son's

Harkonnen, Atreides, and Corrino I thought were good, but haven’t progressed from there. Of course, I read them while on a 6 month deployment for the Navy, so you have to understand that any book that didn’t have to do with ‘Field and Stream’, ‘Guns and Ammo’, and ‘Hustler’ was a NY times Bestseller to me of the highest quality of written word.

The Brian Herbert/Kevin Anderson books are more like sci-fi junk food, IMO. Readable, but they don’t do much for you.

Minsky’s Pizza. I love Minsky’s Pizza. I lived (as a Jr. HSer and HSer) about 10 blocks from the one on Barry Rd @ I-29. I wish they drop ship service on Dry Ice like Pike Place Fish in Seattle. That place is 2 blocks from where I work - combine that with my Midwestern root cookin’ skillz, and BBQ/smokin’ life is good in the PNW.

but seriously though, I’ve heard him talk in interviews about how much he values OBP and taking pitches, quality AB’s…he says he just can’t get the team to do it even though he and the staff continually beat it to death…..but everyone around here seems to think Hillman doesn’t value it because a lot of the players aren’t abiding by it

I agree the manager can't affect the player approach

and everyone values OBP. It’s the approach (patience) that matter.

But he said it, but he still bunts and sacs all the time? The best OBP guy on the team Gordon, (straight-up, and especiallly against righties) is still hitting in the bottom half of the order while he’s hot and doing nothing but walking and hitting XBHs…

He might like it, but he doesn’t get it, from what I’m observing.
