Bigler in AAA

I noticed that Brett Bigler is now in Omaha. Apparently, he SKIPPED AA.

This makes zero sense - he wasn't exactly tearing it up in A to begin with.

Perhaps Omaha simply needed an outfield body - but still, what happened to "everybody needs to succeed at every level"?

Any insight from our Omaha correspondent, Minda?

My guess is

They need an extra body in Omaha, and Bigler isn’t much of a prospect, so they decided to use him rather than hurt the development of an actual prospect.

You see this type of player movement in the minors

at this time of the season. Bigler was probably coming off the DL and Omaha needed an OF with Maier being called up. I believe Stodolka and Costa on DL. Tony Bradley pitched a few innings last year at Omaha as a Class A pitcher. KC had a catcher from class A that played a game or two also.

Definitely a roster move more than a promotion.

Juan LeBron was my favorite non-prospect prospect. At least he had a cool sounding name.

Remember when people were saying he should make the team

Based on his dominating spring training?

Yea, he’s hitting .226. In AAA.
