Not scoring runs with 0 outs
How many of y'alls are getting tired of watching the Royals put a couple of men on base with 0 outs and then fail to score a single run? I've seen this happen A LOT this year, and to top it off we allow a lot of runs with 2 outs. I think this is a coaching philosophy that needs some change. I don't like the philosophy of giving up outs anyhow, but when German is bunting on a 3-2 count with 0 outs, something is desperately wrong. This is something that would affect me if I was a young player like Hochevar. They jump his rump about letting runs score with 2 outs, and then we can't even score a single run with 2 men on and 0 outs. Hey Hillman! This isn't Japan, its the American Effing League! Your thoughts?

From what Hillman said after the game it sounded like German bunted on his own with 2 strikes…. it wouldn’t matter IF WE COULD BUNT! How hard is it to bunt? EVERYONE can bunt unless you are scared of the ball. (Oh, and the strike 2 pitch and the strike 3 pitch were both balls if he doesn’t attempt at them. So in essance, he saw one strike and 5 balls in that at bat.

Two thoughts in basic agreement
1) Once again, as Rany/JoPo/everybody points out all the time, emphasis on “fundamentals ” is inversely proportional to the ability of the team to execute said fundamentals.
2) If German did this on his own, then the team needs to incorporate a “you better not effing bunt” sign—especially since German actually knows how to work the count.

yeah…. I think that goes more on Aviles because he didn’t check where his partner was positioned up the middle. If he fields that knowing Grudz is way in the hole, he has an easy throw to first….
