Around SBN: Lowrie Forces Angels To Walk-Off Back To Anaheim Bar-right-arrows

Capt

The offense has exploded.

Grudz was clearly a negative influence that was holding back everyone else in the lineup.

Consider this your OVERFLOW THREAD.

Tell Me Again

Why we can’t find a way to get German into more games?

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

by philofthenorth on Aug 2, 2008 5:28 PM EDT   0 recs

What an outing for Buerhle.

ERA goes up 50 points. 4.1 IP, 14K, 8 ER. SO, 2 HR.

I’m speechless.

Ehren Wasserman

cannot possibly be a real name.

No doubt

it sounds kind of like a name that Madden 2009 would randomly generate for a rookie.

I always get someone

named LaMar or LaBron or LaTayshon and then he’s a skinny white dude with a moustache or something. That game is messed up. Everyone knows the most popular names for caucasian children are Dakota, Cody, and Tucker.

A mind without purpose will walk in dark places.

by NHZ on Aug 2, 2008 5:34 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I like the Jewish names for black guys

I also had some cornerback named “Bo Clausen,” who was a guy I roomed with in college… white dude from Meade, Kansas, in RL… African-American in the game

You know what's fun, also?

How good the draftees in that game are now. I once drafted 10 players in Madden 2004, all of which were rated 74 or below. The 74 was a fullback, and it takes approximately nothing to be rated highly as a fullback. And back then, that was a GOOD madden draft.

A mind without purpose will walk in dark places.

by NHZ on Aug 2, 2008 5:36 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

No no,

the players beyond the first ten or fifteen picks were always terrible, at least in the PC version of the game. Now, it’s pathetically easy to draft well. In 2004, it wasn’t.

A mind without purpose will walk in dark places.

There's always some really annoying

small difference between the PC game and the console versions. It pisses me off. I’m not buying it this year for PC.

You know what really grinds my gears

about the PC version? You can’t use a create-a-team in frachise mode. If I want to play as the Uptonville Underwear Thieves, then dammit I should be able to.

A mind without purpose will walk in dark places.

I wish they would narrow the gap between All-Pro and All-Madden, though

I can go undefeated with about anyone on All-Pro… can’t win a game on All-Madden

OMG Banny. FWIW I am only crdtng u w/3 runs allwd bc of DDJ OMFG

by devil_fingers on Aug 2, 2008 5:38 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I hate that

not because I can’t win, but because I feel like All-Madden should make it hard, but also uber-realistic…and instead it makes Allen Rossum pick the ball off 3 times against me.

A mind without purpose will walk in dark places.

by NHZ on Aug 2, 2008 5:40 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Is this 2/3 sarcastic?

In 11 years of teaching, I have never had a Dakota or Tucker.

I did have 6 students named Cody (or a spelling variation thereof) in the same year once, however.
