Flanagan: Royals' Hillman needs to show us something

It's about proving to the fans that the organization is making progress. And Royals Trey HillmanTrey Hillmanmanager Trey Hillman needs to keep that in mind as we enter the final stages of the 2008 season. Like all first-year managers, Hillman merits a grace period. He can't be expected to perform miracles in his first season. But he needs to keep in mind that the patience of Royals fans went out the window 10 years ago. Royals fans need to see progress. And they're not seeing it now. I like that Flanny blames Hillman for the regression in Banny and Gobble, and the slow progress in Buck, Butler and Gordon, but of course gets no credit for the huge improvement in Greinke and DeJesus.
