Does Ian Kennedy, Melky Cabrera and one of Edwar Rameriz or David Robertson land us David Dejesus?
Thoughts?

I say no
One decent middle reliever, a fourth outfielder, and a maybe-back-of-the-rotation guy for an good center fielder?
Even if the Royals didn’t already have good middle relievers, fourth outfielders in the minors (and that’s about all), and a bunch of guys who are or look like #4/#5 starters, those are all such funglible commodities I’d say no.
OMG Banny. FWIW I am only crdtng u w/3 runs allwd bc of DDJ OMFG
Not "fungible," (wtf?). I meant "pretty easy to find." Especially for GMDM, it seems.

No
I’d rather get quality than quantity. None of those strike me as impact players. Kennedy I suppose could be one, but I’d rather get a more solid prospect than him. Cabrera and those relievers don’t interest me at all.
DJ would be a pretty good fit for the Yanks as a replacement for Damon. I just don’t think there’s a fit here.

A bunch of low ceiling, moderate talent players for DeJesus? No thanks
It has already been said in this thread, but Melky Cabrera isn’t good. He’s likely no more than a fourth OFer. Ian Kennedy has Bannister-like stuff and Bannister 2008-like results. Ramirez is a pretty good reliever, maybe with good setup man potential. DeJesus is worth more than that to the Royals and on the trade market.
This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.
Probably
This season has worried me about Hughes. But it seems like everybody (scouts, stat guys, etc.) still thinks he’s going to be great. One key problem is what the hell would happen to our OF? We would go from a thin outfield to a truly horrendous OF with no CFer. Hughes is a special talent, so the deal is tempting, but it doesn’t help the Royals in an area of need and it really hurts the Royals in an area of need.
This is just my opinion. I could easily be wrong.

Maybe I'd trade for him and then within a year flip him for a good, young hitter.

Or use the overall increased pitching depth to trade another pitcher for that hitter
