Wow, given the available players this lineup makes sense.
Aviles is fine at the top against lefties. Buck hits lefties better than Gload (a lot better, and sitting him against them partially accounts for his decline in hitting this year). But him at catacher, DH Olivo, Billy at first. German should be starting every game against lefties the rest of the season.
OMG Banny. FWIW I am only crdtng u w/3 runs allwd bc of DDJ OMFG

And if Billy Butler eats 15 Baconators a day… well, he does.

A modest proposal
The “calorie” you see on labels actually refers to kilocalories. I say we start enforcing proper use of the term “calorie.” Thus,
Baconator = 840,000 calories
BK Triple Whopper with Cheese = 1.25 million calories
That sounds way fatter and scarier and maybe people would eat them less.
… but I wouldn’t eat them less. They’re too delicious.
mmmm.....whopper with cheese...

I ate one once. I had skipped lunch and spent the day moving. I was hungry.
The Triple Whopper with Cheese, with fries and a Dr Pepper, provided all 2,000 recommended calories for me that day.
I don't know how many calories
are in this femur-sized stromboli I’m eating, but I don’t care. It’s the best damned stromboli ever.

Anyone else getting the scathing political ads?
It reminds me of Nebraska’s senate race a couple years back, where the ads basically went like this:
“Pete Ricketts is a piece of shit. … I’m Ben Nelson and I approve this message.”
I'd pay good money
to see a Nebraska politician do that, only calling Tom Osborne a piece of shit. I could entertain myself for months just on the fallout.

No need
Since an unprecedented outbreak of common sense led to his defeat in the ’06 gubernatorial race, he has retired to the the quiet, thankless post of God of All Athletics.

Well, Husker fans are collectively a fickle mistress

Of course I'm silent, this team is horrible
The on field talent is pathetic. Why would I get excited when we do well, which is a fluke the majority of the time? I get excited when Meche, Greinke, Aviles, Soria, Gordon and Butler do well. Everybody else on this team is at or below replacement level. It’s a freaking joke. And no, I wouldn’t give hte credit to Bannister – I’d most likely say he got incredibly lucky.

Alright, let's go throuhg that inning
Olivo: flails helpless at several changeups, before popping up a fastball right down the middle
Gload: Fouls off a pitch down the middle, takes a borderline strikes, reaches out and makes weak contact.
Teahen: Typical teahen AB – fails to do anything with 2 very hittable pitches, get himself out chasing the third.
We had pitches to execute on, we just failed.

why is it an unearned run

Because the team scoring the run didn't "earn" it.
It’s a screwy fabrication, insofar as the only purpose behind “unearned runs” is to judge the pitcher, but the definition of an “unearned run” is essentially one the offense scores as a result of an error. That the pitcher committed it is irrelevant to the definition.

they can turn over that much of the roster in one year? I could see like 10 new players MAYBE but to get 19-20 new guys? I know you’re exaggerating but I think it would take at least three years to really get the thing turned over proper…
I’d keep:
DeJesus
Callaspo
Aviles
Butler
Gordon
Meche
Greinke
Soria
Ram Ram
Mahay
Hochevar
Nunez
for sure, and we’d probably end up keeping Gload, German and one of Bannister or Davies. That leaves 9-10 spots to fill. That’s a lot of turnover.
I hereby resign from this post.

I think of those last 4
Gload’s the only definitely worthless one> Banni’s been horrible since April or May. But he’s cheap, and I still think can be back of the rotatoin innings eater at least until minors guys are ready.
Davis has the profile of a guy who could be successful in the pen.
German might be crowded out, but despite the Royals misuse of him this year, is a very useful bench player who can start for stretches.
OMG Banny. FWIW I am only crdtng u w/3 runs allwd bc of DDJ OMFG

Using my awesome powers of comprehending the underlying message
I’d say “Kila at 1B, Gload in LF” was the speculation.
;D
Sarcasm™. It's the new gravy.
Right, and Butler gets sent down for his attitude problem
