At least we aren't the Pirates
Not sure if anyone posted this 1,992 point plan to have 16 straight losing seasons. Fortunately the Royals chose not to follow #1702 which was "Don't have a fluky season where everything goes right before you limp to the finish with 83 wins" or we'd be right behind them with 14. Way to go, guys!

Not so fast, ESPN
Pirates record during the 16 years in question (1993 – 2008 to date): 1097 W 1410 L, for a winning percentage of .438
Royals record during the same time frame: 1090 W 1416 L, for a winning percentage of .435
So, a Pirates blogger somewhere could rightfully post “At least we’re not the Royals”

This should be our marketing slogan next year
“ROYALS BASEBALL: AT LEAST WE AREN’T THE PIRATES!”

the Pirates recently hired a GM who should turn them around in Neil Huntington
I fully expect the Pirates to be competing in 3-4 years.

I dunno, he worked for the Indians...
Probably won’t have the foresight to trade for “60s” like Joey Gathright and Tony Pena, Jr.
