Anyone Following the Astros Miracle Run at the Wild Card?

I started following the Astros nightly about a week ago.

They won again tonight, and are now at 78-67. They were nine games under .500 in late July.

It's weird and sorta funny, but they are in this thing. Although according to BP's Playoff Odds report they are still under 3% likely to snag the Wild Card.

The National League, everyone.

I have a fondness for the Astros.

Unfortunately, I would like to see Drayton McLane in an incident with the Houston light rail system, and I think the Astros stumbling into the wild card given their moves over the last several years would be akin to rewarding Enron executives for their creative management techniques.

Sarcasm™. It's the new gravy.

astros nightly at yahoo dot com?

Ed Wade is a GENIUS

Maybe Berkman has an out clause if the Astros exceed a certain luck ratio,

I’m the sure his agent has explicit instructions to call GMDM immedialty should this happen.

I remember in July when the Astros announced they were "buyers"

and several jokes were made about that situation.

It's hard to picture the Astros in the playoffs

since they have employed Runelvys Hernandez in their starting rotation this season! (True to form, I saw him allow 10 ER in Pittsburgh.)

Their playoff chances improved

When Runelvys was suspended 50 games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Would LOVE to see them

pass the Cardinals.

Don’t really care if they make the wildcard or not – but relegating the Cards to 4th instead of 3rd is a worthy endevour, and if it happens I, for one, will APPLAUD their “We’re Buyers” declaration.

Randy Wolf is a winner.

On days where he doesn’t pitch , he teaches the other guys how to win. And now the team knows how to win.
