Hosmer fun

On a couple of occasions we have discussed Hosmer and poked some fun at this kid enjoying his new found wealth. We all hope, of course, that the wealth is someday richly deserved through his performance for the Royals.

After looking at this post again it struck me that Hos possesses some facial similarity to another ball player. While his performance is not likely to be at his level, I guess we can always hope for him to become one of the greatest of Royals! Have a look.

If Hosmer plays with the Royals

long enough, his nose will be fairly large in the end too!

That's funny.

Maybe we should put him on the mound too?

from BA

“In the field, he’s a solid defender with athleticism and a well-above-average arm. He is the closer on his high school team, regularly touching 95 mph off the mound.”

Could it get much worse?

It’s been over twenty years since I’ve seen the Royals in the playoffs…I live in St. Louis, and can’t even mention our “1” World Championship….It’s all because of Denkinger of course….we suck don’t-ya know. And I was in second grade in 1980…My memory of that is a bit fuzzy now…..It would have been much easier to join the rest of the bandwagon fans in this town and just become a Cardnals supporter…………………….don’t worry, that will never happen.

Yeah, but it seems like EVERY big hs pp prospect was a closer

in fact, I wouldn’t draft a high schooler who didn’t pitch at least 30 innings his senior year, no matter what he hit

yup, firm rule

Bringing you more-or-less replacement level analysis and commentary since sometime in 2008.

GREAT

he’s now destined to be sold to the Yankees, whereupon he will kick ass and make us regret it for nearly a century.

Mr Glass, this is a pro sports team, not a retail store - run it like one!
