Bad Experience with the Caravan
Everyone had such great experiences with the caravan. I did not.
The caravan pulled into my wife's school at the scheduled 2:00. 300 kids and 4 Royals with Slugger. The Royals had said that the players would be willing to sign one autograph per kid when the stop was set up. However, not one kid received an autograph. Not ONE. I'm really disappointed how this was handled. They did offer kids an autograph from the copy machine though.... here, he's a photo copy. Enjoy kid....
I know it was the last stop for the day, but for crying out loud, this is Cardinal country and we are trying to build Royal Loyalty!
They did however present the school with 2 seats from before the renovations. So that's cool... but for 300 disappointed kids, the day was a wash.

Where was this?
Awful shame, sorry to hear you had such an unpleasant experience. I would seriously contact Toby Cook with the Royals and I’d bet you at least get free tix or something out of it.

Toby has been cruisin' for a bruisin for twelve years and 306008 is now his cruise director.
Who was on the Caravan today that thought they were so special?
We had Grienke and Kila
I don’t know if they thought they were so special they didn’t need to sign, but come on, you stop by an elementary school and stiff the kids? Why even schedule this stop?
Oh, I asked ZG what it would take for him to resign in KC. He just kind of gave that ZG smile and said we’ll see. There it is, straight from the his mouth…. I couldn’t read his thoughts. I’m sure he’d been asked that a million times.
My thing is, if they don’t want to be there at the last stop, give us Davies or someone who enjoys people and kids.
(My wife thought Kila was “good-looking” by the way….)
That's why we play the season on paper.

There’s something awfully sinister about this reaction.
The Nation at large. I'll be playing the role of RR Resident Optimist this offseason. What role will you assume?

orI think it’s a clear sign that he intends to sign a long-term deal to stay in KC.
I think it is a clear sign that he intends to leave KC and go the FA route.

The second one. Perhaps the fact that I’m currently watching Hostel II has “skepticized” me, at least for the moment.

My use of the sarcasm font shows that I don’t think we should take any clear signs from Greinke’s reaction, or any of his public comments, quite frankly. Greinke may not be a rocket scientist, but he’s not an idiot either. If he has any willingness to sign a long-term deal with the Royals, he’s not going to come out and say that he really, really wants to stay here. That could only hurt his negotiating position. So he’s playing his cards close to the vest. That could mean he’s willing to and perhaps even desirous of staying in KC long-term, or it could mean that he’d really rather just stay here until free agency and then see how much he can get on the open market.

Or it could mean that he has to be coy
about his surprising, guest-starring, industry-altering star-turn cameo on the final ER

This will be my one comment for the night (probably)
I just spent 48 of the last 72 hours on a bus, so I have no deep thoughts. For that I apologize.
Sorry to hear the Royals were so crappy to the school! That’s seriously disappointing. Why schedule a fan-interaction event if nobody is going to have any interaction with fans? Seems pretty ridiculous. And yes, I second the idea of calling Toby Cook.
As for this:
(My wife thought Kila was "good-looking" by the way….)
Yep. She’s right.
WTF, self?
