OT: I Predicted This Two Years Ago: Clooney Back to ER
George Clooney Headed Back to ER:
George Clooney has agreed to come back to the show that launched his career: ER.
Sources close to the series tell PEOPLE that ER co-creator John Wells has ordered a closed set to keep Clooney’s appearance under wraps.
Nearly two years ago I predicted this on this site.
Have you heard that next season will be the final season of ER?
Say it ain't so????
I wanted it to hit 20 years. The last show (IMHO) to carry on the cinema verite tradition of Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere and thirtysomething.
The good news... and this is so stunning!
Clooney will be coming back for the final season! Its too perfect. No way Cricton doesn't pull the strings to get this done.
George Clooney back in the ER... too perfect.
Thank you Crichton.

hopefully for the producers Clooney can close a series
better than he can open a movie these days

didnt he get nominated for an oscar for michael clayton?
and the oceans’ movies all did pretty well at the box office…

leatherheads lost money....
but other than that, there havent been a ton of movies where he’s ‘the guy’…syriana and michael clayton were supposedly both great movies and both made a bunch of money..
and why do i care enough to know this?…good question

where he's the headlining star?
I’d say there’s a big difference between measuring Clooney’s role in selling Ocean’s 15 and Leatherheads

michael clayton?...syriana?
and with him, he’s already got more money than god, its pretty obvious that he’s trying to make good movies rather than blockbuster hits

Sorry to tell ya...
But Michael Crichton is dead, you gotta thank someone else.
Not that huge of a surprise IMO. He made the show as much as the show made him. Is Eriq LaSalle & the other guy coming back too?
you are one of the lucky ones
I think I might have, during its first season

every week the commercials up the ante
either one of the doctors die or there is a deadly communicable virus in the hospital, forcing a quarantine
Not the worst TV show ever, but almost certainly the most overrated

So what idiotic and unsatisfying way will this show end?
My best guess is showing a death juxtaposed with a birth, and then all of the actors breaking character to thank the audience and the real-life doctors and nurses, who are the real heroes.
