Carl Pohlad, the richest man in baseball, died at 93.

Mixed feelings, on one hand he probably saved baseball in Minnesota.

On the other Carl Pohlad is the epitome of an owner who could have done a lot more for his franchise and didnt, as much as people complain about the Steinbrenners at least they put money into their team.

It's sad when anyone dies

even at 93.

Even if the Twins were good despite his penny pinching.

Even if he actually tried to kill the Twins and take the contraction buy-out money.

Even if he got rich foreclosing on people during the Great Depression.

All the best to Carl Pohlad’s family in this sad time, though. Baseball is one thing, how his family and friends view him is another.

Safe journey.

Bringing you more-or-less replacement level analysis and commentary since sometime in 2008.
