he had a double yesterday
Good to see him starting off well. Helps salve the wound of seeing gutierrez pitch well.

AFL
Where are all of our guys playing this fall? I think Hosmer and a lot of our younger guys could use some more baseball.
Let’s hope and pray Moustakas turns out to be a stud.

Is there a link to the instructs league boxscores anywhere?
i’d love to see those.

They don't keep stats
Even now they have a semi-official league down there, they don’t bother compiling statistics. Which is a shame.

I hope to get out to a couple of games
I hope I go on the right days so that I can see some of our guys play.
Looking at the lineups posted on the AZFL site, Blake Wood is the only one of our guys going today (at least to begin with).

Why was I hoping to see this article as a NWA reference than an actual report?

I know these prospects are considered the best of the best usually, but...
the AFL is an offensively biased league isn’t it? I’m not worried about Moose, but I think we can see the problem with the locations that the Royals have for some of the minor league affiliates. Why not put these players in offensive environments where they can inflate their stats and become more confident? Or at least put them in a neutral location instead of the punishing locations like Burlington and Wilmington (the only places Hosmer and Moustakas have played besides a handful of ABs in Idaho Falls).

But then your pitchers suffer...
Dan Duffy for example has built his name in Burlington and Wilmington.
I guess it’s a balance act, and the organization seems to favor shielding young pitchers over young hitters at the lower levels. NWA and Omaha of course, are hitter friendly places and leagues.
I’m sure they would like neutral affiliates, but there are only so many around, and every team wants them. We should just be grateful we got out of High Desert.
