Royals Sign Reggie Taylor, While it is Time to Learn How to Spell "Carlyle"
From BA:
Atlanta Braves
Granted free agency: RHP Jorge Campillo, RHP Buddy Carlyle, RHP Vladimir Nunez
Carlyle one of those really tough last names to spell: its a tough word to say, and there's that damn Carlisle variation that's always throwing everyone off. Of these three, Campillo, Carlyle, and Nunez, who is most likely to become a Royal?
The Royals have also signed minor league OF Reggie Taylor, after a rigorous tryout was held to find a player with the most generic jock name possible. Dee Browns everywhere were disappointed.

Also, the Royals released TPJ a day or two ago

He'll Be A
Lights-out closer for Colorado next year.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

From BA:
Kansas City Royals
Signed: OF Reggie Taylor (NDFA—Claflin (S.C.))
Granted free agency: RHP Tony Pena Jr.
This is Reginald Donovan Taylor and not the Phillies’ ’95 first-rounder Reggie Taylor, who spent most of this season in the Mexican League. [Update: Taylor signed after participating in a workout at the University of South Carolina.]

Well, that's good
because I was definitely thinking of the old Reggie Taylor.

Campillo is an interesting guy
A former Mexican leaguer, his fastball is only 85 MPH, but has (or had before arm problems) an impressive change up and decent slider. If he’s healthy, he should be able to find a National League with a wide open fifth starter/swingman slot open to give him a shot, but the Royals could do worse as a Brandon Duckworth AAA insurance policy.

When he is on
he’s one of those guys who can throw a half dozen pitches and spot them all. He’ll be scooped up in a heartbeat if he’s healthy and I’ll bet he isn’t.

+1
i was a little surprised to see his name on the FA list and thought he’d be a good pickup. you could do far worse for depth.

I like him quite a bit
Good swingman who can start. I’d give him the Luke Hudson treatment.

Campillo is also a former Mariner
… so it seems like a no-brainer to pick Campillo as the most likely of the three to be on the Royals roster next year. It’s about time for Willie Bloomquist to say that Campillo has the best command of any pitcher he’s ever seen and he can’t believe that the Royals were able to land Campillo.

Reggie Taylor
isn’t that more of a football name?
I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at Driveline Mechanics.
