Royals Review Demographics
I read Royals Review daily, but I don't usually post a whole lot. I only say that because I'm sure there is a large number of people like me and probably even more who read frequently and don't post at all. Anyway, I generally find the discussion and user commentary on the site to be of a far more intelligent and educated and a far less petty and argumentative nature than the vast majority of what I find on the internet in general. It also seems that the readership of Royals Review is comprised of a wide array of age groups. This got to me to wondering if having a community with a more balanced age distribution could potentially relate to a better overall site environment. While other age groups are growing quickly, the majority of internet users are still under 30. All of that to say, I would like to know how the age distribution on Royals Review compares to the internet as a whole. Please indulge my curiosity, and participate in this highly unscientific poll.

Its interesting how much the SBN sites vary
I wonder if they’re a reflection of respective fan bases… probably not.
if so..
then our demographic should skew to the higher ages….b/c surely, people in my age group would be smart enough to not become huge royals fans given what we’ve been put through….

well i would agree
But…the royals fans who read a blog on the royals are die hard ones. I gotta assume there are many who read yankees boards who really don’t know much about sabermetrics, statistics, or the game in general. Not trying to bash on them, if they like spending time reading yankees stuff, good for them.
But back to us, if you’re a royals fan, it is a commitment. We’re bad. We’re going to get made fun of, but dammit we’re loyal and we care. We have to learn about our farm system, or new ways to value players, to hope that with this dedication or new techniques we can find a way to make our team more successful. And since the only way to get that information is through blogs (god knows ESPN isn’t doing it, let alone covering the royals) we end up together, here.
At least Wally Joyner's not on the team....
It really is more intelligent
and with less pedantic gloom around here. The other Royal blogs wore me down. Humorless drones for the most part. This place stays generally upbeat although nobody frowns on tantrums when they’re called for, either. I dig it.
sometimes i think this place gets too...
internetish…and then i go look at royals.scout..com
and i come back immediately..

Not trying to offend anyone
especially since I’m only 3 years removed from being a teenager, but the lack of people under 20 probably has something to do with the site not devolving into typical internet trash (e.g. Comments on YouTube)

It's a good atmosphere
and I never thought I’d say that about
a chat room. Crap, is this a chat room?
No, I don’t hang out in chat rooms, right.
I like the especially clever sarcasm here.
we'll call it a blog....

I am extremely glad to have your here.
Having reached the advanced age of 60 last week, I just have this to say “POWER TO THE OLDSTERS”!!!!!!!!
I'm Fiftying My
Ass off (54). Yogi never said “You’re only as old as your age”, at least as far as I know, but he could have.

I'm only as old as Yogi's age
when he was as old as me. He was getting fired from the Mets at the time.

Let’s hear for those earlybird specials and senior discounts. Now if I could only find my keys… life would be good. KCBear… you should have added a 70 plus category for Buddyball.

yes, I have.
Gus and I are very comfortable in this demographic. You will be here soon enough. In the mean time keep using that rogaine.
I would post more often but I'm busy with my Metamucil regimen.
