Plan Ahead and Save!
Anyone else notice the weird ads showing up on RR for buying your burial plot early!
Someone must have picked up on our dark sense of humor and or willingness to leave this world and seen an opportunity.
Two for one!
Plan ahead and save!
I love life in 2009.

Ferryman, Ferryman
Hey, you’re young and swingin’,
No time to think about tomorrow
But there ain’t no way to deny it
Some day, you’re gonna buy it.
Plan today,
Go for a Ferryman
Tomorrow!
Ferryman, Ferryman,
he’s the man with the plot, the man with the plan!
Ferryman, Ferryman, [bye-bye]
He’s the mortician man who loves you!
A lot

Your age is showing
and so is mine. Rec’d.
If you look closely, it really says "CentralChamps2012."

I would say I remember that show from syndication rather than its network broadcast
but that still only buys me maybe five years and the first Reagan administration.

Is this post the Poem of the Week?
’cuz you could have just said Edgar Allan Poe has control of all our adds.
Is it bad that randomized adds know our level of discontent?

Just in time for Halloween too!!

Graphical representation of a Royals fan. Notice; slacked jaw, and open eyes. This soul is constantly waiting for some positivity within the franchise for nourishment, but has reverted to sustain itself on pain, dilution, and failed opportunities, purely for self preservation. But a Royals Fan is a lowly being and self preservation is used loosely here.

I dont feel like making an entire post...
partially because Im too lazy to research it full…
But what is everyone else’s thoughts on the possible fire sale of the Dodgers that may happen because of the McCourts pending divorce. Is there a chance in hell we could land Ethier or Kemp? They also have the most pending free agents hitting the market.

No, as both are still cheap
Casey Blake, however, would be very much available.

at this stage its too early to say
McCourt was always a weird choice for an owner and he’s had finiancial problems before, still, we’re like a year from this reaching Padres status

Well...
Not that Cowherd is the best news source, he claims to know a guy inside the Dodgers organization. And basically said on the radio today that its getting ugly. Gave some insight into California divorce law.
Of course It never made any sense to me why you would sell the biggest or any assets of a team if you wanted to sell it. Like if I were going to buy the Padres, I want Peavy on that team.

While Peavy represents an All-Star level player
He also represents an All-Star size commitment paycheck-wise. It makes the team more attractive from a financial standpoint when your costs go down by $10M (or whatever he made) a year. They don’t care who buys the team, just as long as someone does.

I get that...
but why would you want to buy a team that has nothing to build on. I guess, you can show that there is a strong foundation from what you got for Peavy. But Im just saying from a buyers perspective, you wouldn’t just want to buy the team but some assets with the team. No owner is going to want to buy a team and watch them suck for 2 years, and have no one to put butts in the seats.

Butts get put in seats regardless
I think the Royals prove that every day Greinke doesn’t pitch.
by AxDxMx on Oct 28, 2009 6:42 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
but thats partially because of the shit they give away.
Not only that but there are plenty of other things to do in SD or LA

You think other stadiums don't do giveaways?
Why do people show up at all when there’s no Greinke or no promotions? Oh that’s right. Some of us still like baseball.

Boston doesn't
And yes some people still go to the games, but you can’t honestly believe that the Royals attendance would do well without Greinke and their giveaways. Kaufman would start to look like Pittsburgh, or even heaven forbid Tampa.

The Dodgers would never get to Padres status just because of the market
I would imagine the Dodgers’ situation would be more like the Cubs, for whom bankruptcy meant that they had to settle for Ryan Dempster at $52 million instead of AJ Burnett at $82 million.
by Gopherballs on Oct 28, 2009 7:27 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
But from what I understand about the McCourts...
is that they dont have much liquid assets, its all tied up in stuff.
Reportedly the couple is worth 1.2 Billion, and the Dodgers themselves is worth 800 million. I can’t imagine they will invest any of it into a team that they are gonna have to sell.

He is not using his personal money to run the team
According to Forbes, the Dodgers had $241 million in revenue with an operating income of $16.5 million. The Dodgers make money regardless of McCourt’s personal situation.

The burial plot ads on a Royals blog is funny
Not so funny if this were a suicide prevention blog, or cancer survivors blog, or etc.
