I'm sure they do

and I’m sure they’re fine — they probably aren’t doing a bunch of awesome original research, but the basic prinriples of replacment level, linear weights, statistical projection, etc. aren’t controversial in general among sabermetricians.

Frankly, I speculate that we should feel sorry for them. Can you imagine how they are treated in the organization? Like, say, when they try to explain what it means that Willie Bloomquist is a “-20 hitter” and get laughed out of the room?

I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at Driveline Mechanics.

"If it weren't for Billy Butler, Willie might be the team MVP"

There must be some inverse relationship between one’s talent and one’s ability to recognize talent.

We always did feel the same, We just saw it from a different point of view, Tangled up in blue.

At the very least

an inverse relationship between one’s blood alchohol level and one’s ability to recognize talent.

George's competitive fires still burn

and he has no choice but to out-Rice Jim Rice.

Your kidding me -- I have never not looked forward to a Royal's baseball season as next year.

Even Dayton makes all the right moves, we could barely get to 500 and what are the chances of him making good moves.

As much as it pains me to say this,

I’m actually looking forward to all the losing. We all know it is going to happen, his player acquisition skills are crap, and I view it as one step closer to getting Glass to fire him and Trey. Even if Dayton sticks around next year, I can’t see Trey making it out alive if they are this bad again. So I’m looking forward to the carnage. And if I’m wrong, well I’ll be pleasantly surprised and start to believe in forcing the envelope of this mythical non-instant gratification process.
