Day 2 LDS Open Thread
Thought I'd get an early start to the day since I'm on the phone, waiting for a project to start at work.
Yesterday we saw Cliff Lee do what he's done since coming to the Phillies, the Yankees beat a mostly sleepwalking Twins, and the Dodgers knock around Chris Carpenter while overcoming only 3.2 from Randy Wolf. What will today bring?
Colorado Rockies (A. Cook) at Philadelphia Phillies (C. Hamels), 1:37pm CT
St. Louis Cardinals (A. Wainwright) at Los Angeles Dodgers (C. Kershaw), 5:07pm CT
Boston Red Sox (J. Lester) at Californ-- Anahe-- Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (J. Lackey), 8:37pm CT

I've thought about adopting the Rockies as my team so I don't get so beat down by the Royals
This offseason I’m cheering for the Twins, Angels, Rockies, and Cards.
Go Dodgers!!!!!!!
that game last night made my day
Holy Shit!!!...Peterson resigned...Am I dead?...Is This Heaven?

Yankees/Twins - most anticlimactic series ever
If I have to hear one more person say the Angels are going to run all over the basepaths in Boston and create havoc, I am going to punch someone.
Stolen bases:
Angels 148
Red Sox 126

Cole Hamels: inverse Brian Bannister
pitching poorly in day games, today no exception.

Bannister has not fared well in his last few day games though...

I thought Dodgers might luck this one out
but it’s not looking good
Kansas City Royals: your 2006 and 2007 NL Central champions!
Bases loaded Dodgers.
Last night’s hero Kemp up.
Not the hero tonight.
Cards escape so far.

He shouldn't have ducked from that first inside ball
Kansas City Royals: your 2006 and 2007 NL Central champions!
Really.
Let the breaking ball hit you.

Holliday muffs a ball
with two outs in the ninth. Dodgers still breathing.
Yes.
One of the few times I wouldn’t want to be a MLB player. He is going to be hounded about that play by the media.

Passed ball
puts the winning run at 3rd with 2 outs.
And now the Cards
reliever walks the bases loaded.

Dodgers win.
Holliday is the goat, though it was not an easy play.
It's almost fun to watch (was listening to Scully on MLBAudio, actually) the Cards lose in such a fashion
Not really, tho. I don’t wish heartbreaking losses on anyone.
This may be the first day that I cannot wait to get to work tomorrow
I wasn’t there today, so now I have two Cardinal losses to gloat about.

Hadn't watched any of this on TV yet
until just now, when I saw two pitches thrown to Ortiz. That was as long as it took for me to be appalled by the exploitation of the Adenhart story by television, and I turned it back off — seriously, zooming into the black patch on the pitcher’s jersey? How often are they going to do that, do you think?
I have no problem with the Angels remembering and honoring their teammate. But what TV is doing is the opposite of that — not a recollection for the sake of remembrance but for the sake of present drama. Frankly, it’s horrid. No ratings for you from this household, TBS.
