World Series Notes: 2 WTF moments and 1 Royals Record about to fall
Cole Hamels after a game he was roughed up says "I can't wait for it to end." The getting roughed up part, or the World Series? WTF?
Derek Jeter just won the AL's Hank Aaron Award? Best offensive player doesn't go to the man that lead the AL in Batting Average, OBP, and Slugging? And if you voted Mauer for MVP, your tiny brain can't comprehend that he might actually deserve both awards? Seriously? WTF?
Finally, Willie Wilson's strikeouts in a World Series record is about to fall thanks to Missouri native Ryan Howard. Howard needs just 3 more to tie Willie. If the Phillies can push the series to a game 6, he's got a shot. If there is a Game 7, surely Howard will break it.

How dare you criticize Jeter, sir
A pair of Selig cronies are on the way to see you right now. Be very afraid, sir. Very afraid.
Mr Glass, this is a pro sports team, not a retail store - run it like one!

I do despise Jeter
Ok, well maybe not Jeter, but all the love that goes his direction is what I despise. Probably because everyone thought he was a great SS, when the truth is, he was pretty terrible. This year he’s been above average, so maybe that will change, but I wouldn’t count on it.

But he's such a team player
Remember that time he wouldn’t let the reigning AL Gold Glove SS (and a justified one) play SS? That’s because he plays for the team, unlike A-Rod, who does it for the personal glory.
So suck it.

Mock Jeter
but can we at least get it straight: Bud Selig hates the Yankees. He’s given David Glass and the rest of the small market scrooges (many of whom are independently weathier than the the Steinbrenners) waaay more kickbacks and blowjobs than the Steinbrenners. Selig’s luxury tax is just a “screw the Yankees” tax.
I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at Driveline Mechanics.

That award
is fan-voted. There are more Yankee fans than fans of any other team in the major leagues. Any further explanation needed?

Looks like it was strictly a fan vote
That was a great idea MLB. How about you do it again next year?

I think it's the Roberto Clemente award that's partially fan voted
that Jeter also won, but the Hank Aaron Award is 100% fan voted. He’s the most popular player in the majors (led the All-Star voting this year), so this is not an unexpected outcome.

Howard had 2 more Ks, so he's tied Willie Wilson
One more and he owns it.
