Tug no more

I know you're all busy cramming fowl into your pumpkin pie holes, but where is the speculation, analysis, and dissection of the Tugger for a PTBNL deal with the dreaded BoSox?  Anytime GMDM deals with a team who obviously possesses a superior analytic, fiduciary, and common sense edge over our beloved Royals (Theo AND Bill James?  We're screwed), I feel queasy.  Curious if anyone has an educated guess as to what pool of PTNBL's we might be looking into  in return for one of the Royals many sporky types?  I know its Thanksgiving, but come  on people, Tugger's gone and tumbleweeds are blowing around here..........

So we’re pretty much limited to Independent League teams, no?

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

My guess is that this deal is not going to be completed until after Dec. 12

Two key dates coming up are the Dec 10 Rule 5 draft and the Dec 12 cutoff date for tendering contracts to unsigned players.

First, by not completing the transaction until after Dec 10, the Royals can avoid exposing one more player in the Rule 5 draft.

Second, that Dec 12 tender date creates an additional wave of free agents, viz., the players under team control who are released instead of being offered arbitration.

My thought is that there is a list of names the teams have agreed on from which the Royals may. After Dec 12, the Royals will look at where the teams stand after the Rule 5 draft and the releases of arb-eligible players. Based on that they will then make their selection.

Who cares what we get for Tug?

I don’t know what our needs in Omaha really are but Tug had no shot to make the roster this year.

Which is really unfair, as he's probably Bloomy's equivalent

and likely hits better than TPJJ and Anderson. How those guys aren’t gone yet, I’ll never understand.

We won't get much

We have no leverage. All Boston will do is pay a small fee, probably in the form of a mediocre A-baller, for the privilege of jumping the Waiver line.

PTBNL will results in a few Benjamins

Can’t imagine that KC would get a player with any potential for Hulett. A little cash for GMDM to waste at the December meetings is as good as it gets. Maybe the standard “future considerations?”

Wasn’t there an indy league OF that KC and Boston were trying to sign? I’d take him as a pay off for Tug.
