Around SBN: Are The Orioles Bad Or Unlucky With Their Young Pitching?

The list is just crazy. I just once want to understand what is actually used to determine these.

This world has gone batshiat crazy insane if freaking Bruce Chen is a Type A

What the hell? Who in their right mind would give us a draft pick to sign him? Of course, he’d be a moron to turn down arbitration if we offered it anyways.

Doesn't giving a player a higher ranking reduce his potential salary

This is probably a larger topic than is worth getting into here, but if a player gets a higher ranking then his worth on the FA market goes down b/c teams have to pay a draft pick. Would it be a surprise if, overall, players get higher rankings in a time when money for the MLB teams is tight?
Though weird rankings happen all the time, I wonder if they’re directional in a year like this.

Juan Cruz disease

Only for Type A’s though. The signing team doesn’t give up a pick for a type B.
