Bruce Chen?

Is that guy even AA depth right now?

Seriously, Don't We

Have enough arms in the system? I thought that was our strength. I know nothing about Mejia, but is he an upgrade over Shealy? As for Wilson, that’s some kind of career achievement award. Not that we don’t need backstops, but is there any chance he’ll ever see the K?

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

We don't really have any arms in the upper minors

Guys like Montgomery, Duffy will only be in AA at best. Crow will probably start at AA. Lamb, Melville, Sample will all be much lower.

So Omaha needs to fill out their rotation. Chen is as decent a choice as any I suppose.

Wilson is essentially a player/coach. I think he just wants to keep earning a check and playing near his Arkansas home. I don’t think we should expect to see him unless the Royals get in a pinch.

Mejia is not an upgrade over Shealy, but he’s going to be in AA ,and I don’t think Shealy would re-sign here to play AA ball.

That works. I'd just rather find a different journeyman fill out Omaha's rotation.

Yes they all most likely suck, but I know Chen does.

Exactly.

Why keep Chen when we know he’s terrible at the big league level. Better to keep someone like TPJ around and see if he can become a reliever. I mean we kept around while he was terrible, and now that he actually shows some promise at pitcher, we let him leave? I don’t get it.

We can't keep him

Its too tempting to Trey to insert him as starting shortstop. Not a risk I am willing to take.

Re: Wilson

Sure there’s a chance that he’ll see the K. Tickets are (or will be) available to nearly every home game :) !!!

He lives in Springdale

I’m sure they just give him a job because he’s an older guy willing to mentor and live at home. It’d be a sweet gig.

Yeah - I get it

Kind of a player/coach position. Wouldn’t be surprised if he transitioned to the coaching staff down there soon.

I Guess I'm

Just getting impatient to see some of our homegrown (or acquired, for that matter) MiLB talent in Omaha. It seems like it’s used mostly for stocking AAAAers and washed up MLBers in case of emergency.
