OT: ingram nabs the heisman
This is pretty disgusting...Its similar to if the MLB writers gave Sabathia the Cy young simply because he played for the Yankees.
Whether you wanted Gerhart or Suh to win, this is just horrendous.

was rooting for gerhart
or Suh. Mostly just happy that Tebow didn’t win, although nobody expected him to.
My stories a lot like yours only more interesting because it involves robots!
Ingram wasn't even the best at his position
Don’t see how Gerhart shouldn’t have been the choice over him.
And Suh got hosed.
I'd probably have given it to Ryan Mathews of Fresno State
More yards, higher ypc (6.8 to 6.2), higher yards per reception, and more touchdowns, despite playing in two fewer games.
If you want to get really crazy, you could give it Lance Dunbar of North Texas, better stats in almost every category than almost all runningbacks. Of course, the Mean Green only won 2 games, so….
The problem with doing that is that their level of competition is not likely to be comparable
And so a “big fish” dominates the “small pond”. Not always true, but it’s hard to argue someone from a small school is better than an above average player from a big school.
Yeah, but it's like putting Superman in the backfield for D1
of course he’s going to dominate. Everyone else has comparable skills.
"The Heisman truly is a team award"
yeah… it appears that way

Gill to KU
ESPN is reporting that Turner Gill has accepted the KU coaching job.
Man, I really don’t want to have to root against Gill.

Woulda preferred Skip Holtz
But I don’t really care for grown men who go by the name “Skip.” Turner seems like a fine hire.

Whitlock is unimpressed

Of course, he’s probably just sour they didn’t give the job to Jeff George.
Honestly
I had never heard of Ingram until about a month ago. And I like to think of myself as a casual college football fan.

Alabama couldve won without Ingram.
Stanford wouldnt be very good without Gerhart and Nebraska wouldn’t have had a winning record without Suh. Suh was the most dominant player I’ve ever seen. If you look up “gamechanger” in the dictionary, his picture would show up.
Yes, I'm still alive. Sorry to disappoint you.

Suh was the only choice
He dominated Texas and almost knocked them out of the BCS title game. 1 more second and he would have taken the Heisman.
If Nebraska doesn't have Suh
I think there is a good chance they finish dead last in the Big XII North, or at least 5th ahead of the mess in Lawrence.

He Reminds Me
Of the Bubba Smith line “He just grabs the whole backfield and starts throwing them out until he finds the one with the ball”.

This is exactly what I said would happen
Should’ve been Suh, who was more or less unstoppable in every game this year. He almost singlehandedly beat the Tigers while injuring Blaine Gabbert’s ankle and making him an awful QB for the next three weeks. In the Big 12 Championship game he was a man among premature newborns. He threw Colt McCoy to the ground like a rag doll.
But for some reason, the criteria for the Heisman award is not “the most outstanding player in college football this year” so much as it is “the best QB, WR, or RB on the team voted #1 in the polls.” There was no way they were going to give the award to a DT, no matter how dominant he was. And it’s almost criminal that they didn’t give it to Gerhart, who was better than Ingram anyway. Like most things affiliated with the NCAA, the Heisman Trophy award is a huge embarrassing failure.
