Spring Training is going to rock!
So, I come here in peace. I am not a Royals fan. Does it help that I go to KC every year to watch the A's play?
Anyway, I just found out that I get to go to Arizona for a Spring Break and I'm going to a game at the Royals stadium. Is there anything I should know about? Any inside info? I'm really looking forward to it!! In the past these sites have really helped me out. If there's anything I should know as a 1st timer, let me know. It's almost time for baseball kids!!! WOOO HOOOO

Do not boo Jose Guillen
He will take it personally, even though he says he doesn’t care

Yes...
and if you are mean enough, or if he’s having a bad day, he will try to fight you. And I’m not sure how tight security is at spring training games. Tread with caution.

I actually know the kid that was yelling at him
he shouldn’t have been heckling hoagy no matter how much he doesn’t like him
I think it's funny
If it wasn’t that this event occurred on the Kansas City Royals (a team and a town most of the country has never heard of) I think that the legend would grow and grow, and that the number of people saying “I was there!” would eventually grow beyond the capacity of The K!

tickets are already for sale
You should buy them as soon as possible for close seating. Although, I don’t think the Rs draw a huge crowd and I’ve gotten seats first row behind visitor dugout just buying from someone in the parking lot the day of game.
Feb 13!!

DOES GRASS CREEK MEAN NOTHING TO YOU???!!
Gil Meche, Jose Guillen, Horacio Ramirez, Willie Bloomquist, Raul Ibanez, Mike Sweeney. . .
There is bad blood here that cannot be ignored!
A's could be a second rival

the Mariners hate freedom
thus, we are their enemies.
Oh, and we totally aren’t giving up Grass Creek to those West Coast latte-drinking hippies. (Wait, I live in Berkeley…shit…)

Most assuredly!
As required to enter the Gates of Seattle, I am a pompous foodie snob who enjoys brie along with many other foreign cheeses, organic anything, gourmet coffee, microbrew and Belgian beers, wines (especially French even though they suck to keep up the facade), and all trendy foreign cuisines.
Don’t tell anybody, because it might get me kicked out, but I refuse to give up meat and surreptitiously eat it all the time and long for KC BBQ.

Brie Is Cheese?
I thought she was that brunette with the navel ring and pushup bra who always asked me if I wanted anything in my black coffee.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

Yes, her too.
I think she’s added quite a few more body mutilating rings, studs, and chains since you last saw her though.

BTW
I also refuse to pretend to like soccer so that I can feel like a faux european. Secretly though, of course.

I’m a liberal but like beer and sharp cheddar

I'm not picky...
I like beer, sharp cheddar, brie, and chardonnay.
But if I had to choose one, it’d probably be the beer and cheddar. Depends on the beer, though.
more like
Tillamook cheddar and Blue Moon.
mmmmmmm
agree, agree (although to preserve my foodie snootiness, I guess I should inform you that there are better Belgian beers than this one)

mmmmm
that sounds good. (So does Vermont cheddar and Stella).
Actually, since I’m typing this while in my pastoral counseling class, beer in general sounds good right about now.
What the heck
is Velveeta anyway? I will say it tastes better than the Taco Bell nacho cheese dip stuff, so it’s got that going for it.

that creeped me out for a second
I thought it meant something else (not that there’s anything wrong with that) until I looked it up!
Sure, why not? I say Seattle, you say Berkeley.

And I did learn something new…..Royals hate Mariners? It’s all to much to comprehend

hang around us enough...
…and you’ll realize that all of us collectively suffer from a case of group-ADD that is generally triggered by mentions of any of the following: beer, The Office, Ross Gload, Neifi Perez, 19th century poets, barbeque, and the children of the dads here at RR. And this list is by no means exhaustive.
Man, I love this site.
This site is positively sarcasmic!

Yeah, I'm all the way at the bottom!!
If anyone reads this, I was just curious:
Over the past few seasons, I’ve seen the attitude over at AN go in the crapper due to a few poor seasons. It’s really annoying if you ask me. Everyone’s always pissed off. Not trying to sound totally rude, but how in the hell do you guys do it, being Royals fans? I know that no matter what, every team has it’s fans and you stick with them through it all, but really? Seriously? How are you guys not all suicidal/homicidal manicas? I’ve always wondered

Really, we're just used to it
Year after year of 100-loss seasons will do that to ya. I think there are also a lot of us here who are imbued with a knack for dark/sarcastic humor, which is infinitely preferable to just being mad.
And doing unhealthily large amounts of drugs helps, but not as much as you would think. Don’t do drugs.
And, don't worry
we’ve had several knock down, drag out tussles on here between the “negative ninnies” and the “positive peppies”.
Desperately Seeking Soria (Subliminally encouraging Trey to "Think Leverage, you can do it, Leverage")
Can you be a negative Peppie?
Or a positive ninnie? Just Curious…….All I know is that every year I go to Kaufmann I kind of see the same people year after year and they seem in good spirits. Except 1 game I went to in April or May about 3 years ago. I was with my mom and there was a guy in front of us and the back of his hat said “Season ticket holder” and I can’t remember who the outfielder was, but he was running for the ball and just slammed into the wall. Dude was hurt and the ass in front of us kept yelling at the player telling him if they lost the game it was all his fault and on and on and on. I thought about telling him to STFU, but he made himself look like a big enough ass that it was good enough.
