Crede really isn't very good
So therefore it is no bad thing that we didn’t sign him. We have done our fair share of helping mediocre players find employment this offseason, we don’t need to do it again.

The Royals don't need Crede
but he is, in fact, a good player. His problem is his health. And the money isn’t that much. He’s probably an average hitter at best at this point, but he’s one of the best defensive 3Bs in the league when he plays — maybe not quite on the same level as Rolen or Beltre, but very good. That more than makes up for his offensive deficiencies. Even if he just repeats his injury-riddled 2008 for them, this will more than pay off.
