Vision quest: Lasik surgery Pena's cure
Our problems are solved! Pena's hitting woes were due to his poor vision. Now they can move Aviles to second and the world is right again. (Does sacarsm come off very well in typed word?)

In fairness
it appears Pena’s taking the “don’t freakin’ swing at everything” lesson to heart. If that sticks, it’s going to be a major step toward at least not being a complete sinkhole…
This space for rent.

well
Even if he becomes more patient, I’m not sure how much different it will make him. Besides lack of plate discipline, his other big, huge problem is that he has a big, huge swing. He really needs to change that in my opinion. It seems to me that he thinks he is a home run hitter or something and swings way too long and hard (yes I said that). He hasn’t shown any evidence of understanding this and trying to change it.

Interesting question
what if Pena has a good spring?
how interesting does the infield situation get if he makes the team?
full disclosure: He won’t

By interesting do you mean
Groin-grabbingly frustrating?

Please read the celebrity endorsement on this page:
I made this comment on the last Lasik post….anyone else remember Todd Dunwoody’s assertion that he would be awesome for the Royals after his surgery?
http://www.allaboutvision.com/lasik-surgeons/invision-indianapolis.htm
Dunwoody in 2000 for KC…. .208/.238/.275 in 178 ABs. If only Pena could reach that level, right?

Not sure that surgery will help,
as it appeared to me he was swinging with his eyes closed last year anyway…
Mr Glass, this is a pro sports team, not a retail store - run it like one!

Shall we repeat the same jokes in this thread too?

Pena's numbers should have an asterisk by them
I want to see him using his natural "talents’, not this performance-enhancing science!
