That 12-inning CG with just the one strikeout was his last start of 1974. I couldn’t tune in to that game, as it was against the Rangers and way out of range of , but I remember that pitching line in the boxscore, because it was one of the few highlights during a dismal finish to the season.

Really had no idea about his post-baseball career

He also used to do post-game on Metro Sports with Brian McRae, don’t know if he does that anymore since I don’t get Time Warner. Sounds like a deeper fellow than most jocks.
