WOOHOO
I’m very thankful of this, I wish someone would have bet me.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
YAAAAAAYYYYY!
I have been terribly nervous that the team would have to relocate, and the city of Omaha would have to settle for some Indy-league crap. To lose affiliated baseball would be awful.
WTF, self?
Any inducation on whether they keep
the “Omaha” name? Or change to “Nebraska Royals” or some such? I hope they keep the existing name. It’s true that the city of Omaha isn’t paying for the stadium, but it’s hardly un-heard of for a team in a city’s suburbs to keep the city’s name. And it’s probably best to not alienate whatever fans the existing club has in Omaha proper.

I personally
think they should rename the team all together but without a BS corporate bias. There was absolutely no way the Golden Spikes name won that vote last time.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
Maybe we could encourage the players
to be more free with giving autographs if they were the Sarpy Sharpies.

Sarpy officials
don’t want them to use the name “Omaha” but from the looks of the agreement, I think they haven’t demanded that they change to Sarpy Royals (or La Vista Golden Spikes, etc.), so I’m guessing the team gets to do whatever it wants. There is more in today’s paper:
