Around SBN: Are The Orioles Bad Or Unlucky With Their Young Pitching?

Oh well, it would have been nice, but if the Mariners got him on this deal, it probably would have taken 2/$9.5M with a $1M club option for 2010 for the Royals to get him.

Eh, I don't care

Besides, it sounds like money was less a priority for Cordero rather than having a shot at the closer role. He never would have that in KC and there are doubts about his health anyways. He turned down more money elsewhere, and maybe one of those places was KC. We’ll likely never know.

Waiting for April.

Meanwhile

LHP Will Ohman is still available and is likely going to settle for Jimmy Gobble money even though unlike Gobble, he can pitch semi-effectively to right-handed hitters.

And the Royals need another reliever because?

Beimel and Ohman are both eligible. Is Ohman a type A FA like Beimel? I don’t think KC needs to sign any more arms myself with the likes of Rosa, Dusty Hughes, Ducky, Nicoll, Chris Hayes, Osoria, Banni or Hoch, etc down in Omaha

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

Because at this point Jimmy Gobble is likely to make the team

If a better pitcher for the same role is available for essentially the same cost, why would you not improve the team?

Neither Ohman nor Beimel are Type A free agents. Beimel is a Type B and Ohman was not ranked, so signing either does not cost a draft pick.

+ think of all the potential "Oh-Face" jokes we're missing out on

What show was that guy on where he played himself?

He was the wedding or party date of the main character’s rival, who openly referred to him as “Oh-Face” guy from “Office Space” in attempt to make the lead jealous.

Maybe the Sarah Silverman Program?

Agreed on those two

I was mostly saying we don’t need to add Cordero. If you can get one of them to replace Yimmy that would be fine with me. Or Trey could just use Yimmy properly which would be like adding a Type B FA pitcher.

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
