Need Help: Royals Single Game Pre-Sale
My understanding is that Royals single game tickets go on pre-sale March 5. I have registered for the pre-sale but still have not received the E-mailed information necessary to participate in the pre-sale. I had this same problem last year. Has anyone else received their E-mail from the Royals and, if so, what is the password?
It seems like they have a lot of communication problems with fans regarding tickets. Anyone else agree?

I filled mine out.
I “won” last year. But this year I haven’t recieved any email, informing me either way. Some of my buddies have, though. Sounds like they’re pretty spotty to me.

Haven’t received ANYTHING, I know someone who got a “you didn’t win” newsletter too.

I got....
…the “you didn’t win” e-mail. I think that I got it on Monday. If you’re running a spam blocking program, it may have been blocked???? Just a theory….

The Royals organization...
is not familiar with the concept of making it easy for fans to get tickets. This pre-sale/email ticketing issue is one problem. One of their biggest problems for years was walk-up ticket sales. I can’t tell you how many games I’ve been to where I’m walking into the stadium as the anthem is being played and the lines to the five windows that were actually open are still 50 yards long. Petro bitched about it on his radio show constantly last year (“you have people TRYING to give their money to you, and you’re making as difficult as possible to take it”). Hopefully the renovation has taken care of that—I’ve heard that more and more efficient ticket windows are a part of the exterior changes.
Also, DO NOT EVER try to do their “mobile ticketing.” I thought I would be cool, innovative, and slightly-environmentally-conscious (by not having to print the tickets out on paper) last year when I tried this. Once. I got a text message on my phone with all my info, and was told that this is all I would need. Of course, I got to the gate, and the 97 year old guy with the scanner had NO clue what to do. Getting him to use one of those newfangled, handheld bar code scanners was probably hard enough for the organization. I’ll give him credit—I showed him my phone so he could see the text, and he actually tried to “scan” my phone. Shockingly, it didn’t work. I ended up having to go to the will call window, show the super-quick (/sarcasm) lady behind the glass my phone, and then she printed out tickets for me. So much for that idea.

I could not agree more on the walk-up ticket issues.
Every Fri or Sat night they seem to think it’s a good idea to open about 5 windows and make sure fans miss at least a couple of innings waiting in long lines. Then they always have the audacity ,when the inevitable uproar occurs, to chastise people for not buying tickets ahead of time to make it more convenient for them.
what's even more ridiculous
is that they have hardly any big crowd attendance in the first place. what would happen if they become good and sell out all the time like the old days
Fourth to First
you've gotta cut them some slack...
the ticket situation was awful last year b/c the ticket offices were all closed due to the renovations. It was all in a portable thing with only a few windows. If it sucks this year, theres no excuse t hough

100% true
Especially on the mobile ticketing point. Honestly, it is the same way with society in general. Websites offer coupons and discounts for stores, and you print them off and take them into stores, and they look at you like you’re trying to rob them blind. I can’t tell you how many times that has happened.
Companies need ot train people to use new technology better.

Part of the renovation
is to double the number of ticket windows. And I think I read in a Dutton article that the plan is also to have more ticket sales staff on Fridays and Saturdays specifically. Hopefully that will help.
WTF, self?
I don't even see why they need humans
Computer kiosks would help a lot.

Show up early - Tailgate
Not to take away from people who wait until just about game time to buy tickets, I understand that conflicts occur at work and not everyone can make it on time, or even that people do not want to make it early. Kansas City should speed up ticket sales, but my point is that The K is a great place to tailgate.
There are only a few stadiums in baseball that provide this opportunity to mingle with fellow royals fans over a beer, a pop, or some type of cooked meat. Show up 2 hours early, bring a small little grill and cooler stocked with your favorite eats, and a lawn chair or pickup truck to relax in. Baseball is great by itself, but if you have the extra two hours . . . by all means enjoy what a non-downtown staduim has to offer. Hell, if you show up early enough you can snag a seat on the little strip of lawn in the parking lot.

Believe me...
if my ability to attend Royals games and buy beer and meat did not depend upon me having (and keeping) a job, I would do this pretty much every game night.
