ST Game 11 Open Thread - Brewers vs Royals
The Royals are back in Surprise today to host their long-lost expansion twin, the Seattle Pilots.
Zəḫ Greinke, Robinson Tejeda, Matt Wright and Roman Colon pitch for the Royals.
Yovani Gallardo starts for the visitors, and Jorge Julio relieves, among others.
Broadcast: MLB.com only today
MLB.com Gameday: here.
Remember that the game starts an hour later today at the usual time. It's complicated. Not as complicated as Ryan's and Dean's on-air explanation of baseball's roster rules, maybe, but hard enough to deal with when you're short of sleep.
Fun fact: the Royals haven't won their first Cactus League game against this franchise in any prior season. Revenge is on everyone's mind.

I like our new pitcher BTW
Zah Greinke. Is he from Iran or something?

CF for Crisp, not the whole field. The cat pulled the key cap from my C key the other day. Endless trouble.
that isn't to say that he couldn't play the whole outfield
he is just that good

Crisp led off for the Royals with another walk.
Royals have scored 3 without an out. Bases loaded for Corey Smith.
So
are we supposed to cheer for the Panamaniacs to beat the Dominicans so Guillen can return to Spring Training?
that is what I am hoping for
also for Mexico to lose and Canada
"Things could always be worse." - Buddy Bell
I think I would rather have Guillen and Olivo in camp
than Chen
"Things could always be worse." - Buddy Bell
Chen's curve looked decent yesterday
If he can get back into form a little and use the fastball and that curve effectively, I see some good games in KC (also, some shellings)
That's why we play the season on paper.
I'm still not sure how the DR lost to
the Antilles
It would be a bit of an upset if DR beat PR.
And Panama has enough baseball players to form a team?
Yovani's line - smacks of HoRam
Five earned, four hits, three walks, two outs, one early shower. Tomko-esque, except Brett would have done it in only a third of an inning.
Jayhawk baseball - a tradition since Steve Jeltz
Steve Stewart wonders aloud whether Billy Butler can ever be a gold-glover at 1B
Few imagined that this question would ever be pondered.
He Actually Discussed
Cutting Gload, Teahen as super-sub, Callaspo beating Bloomquist at 2B, Jacobs as DH, etc..

We the people of earth return your greetings.
Slow day on our planet. A 7-run 1st inning has taken all the suspense out of things.

hilarious
That’s funny how warm and sunny that sign makes it seem.
As I’ve never at all been to Alaska and currently live in Seattle, what would be the best recommended weekend trip?
Fourth to First
The First Two

for outdoor things I assume. Hiking, kayaking, etc?
As for cities/towns, which are best to visit? Anchorage, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan?
Fourth to First
Kenai Is The

hour or so drive from Anchorage?
I’ll have to do some studying on that. And find the right girl accompaniment.
Fourth to First
It's About 3
Hours from Anchorage to Kenai, and rentals are easily available at the Kenai airport.

I was gonna say
they would have trouble fitting a one man band in that place. The dollar bills make it too crowded.

Didn’t realize that Ruben Rivera was playing for the Panamanians.
Excellent. Any excuse to post this link must be exploited.
Gobble had 2 up 2 down.
And Tejeda has 2 hitless with 2 walks…
That's why we play the season on paper.
I don't know who is more enthused
Kaegel or Eskew
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
Bottom of the 6th, Costa practices the anti-aggressive tactic of leading off with a walk, but it leads only to an inning-ending DP hit into by Callaspo. Still Royals 7-0 after 6 full.
that's why we shouldn't worry about walks
they clog the bases and cause DPs to end innings

Have we pitched a shutout yet this spring?
Go Royals!
That would be an international incident.
Gameday says he reached on a throwing error and popped out twice.
