My Unbelievable First Experience at the "new" K

Hey guys, long time reader, first time fanposter! Just figured I'd try and pass out a few smiles with an interesting event that happened to me this evening. I'm a college student down at Emporia State and a few of my buddies and I headed up for the game tonight. We of course jumped all over the $5 tickets being as broke as it gets. We had a great time and loved the new additions, despite the cold and somewhat boring game. In the end though we walked out experiencing more excitement than about any other fans there.

Star-divide

The excitement for us came in the middle of the 8th when the MLB's best cheerleaders (The K Crew) came out for the t-shirt toss. We were sitting almost by ourselves 10 rows up in section 420 when one of the K Crew guys came up to throw out shirts. I started hollering and he heaved one up to me but it landed the row in front of me. Now to get the most out of the story you have to realize I'm a really big guy, about 6'7" and well built (if any ladies are interested hit me up *wink*). Anyways the shirt lands in the row in front of me and despite the fact we're damn near alone in our section I start scrambling for the shirt like it's a damn home run ball.

I lifted one foot over the seat in front of me but my other size 18 foot caught the chair as I was jumping down. This sent me into a dive more epic that Bloomquist's awesome catch attempt in right field the other day. I hit the row in front of me and went sliding like a toboggan out of control across the tops of the seats for 4 rows. At that point I tried to stop myself by dipping my head down. My head disappeared between the seats but my legs came up over my head creating an epic flip. Somehow I did a complete flip in the air and continued to slide down for 4 more rows before a fellow Royals fan stopped me right before the rail. I was certain I had to have broken something and was extremely happy to be alive at the moment. I stood up dizzy as hell before quickly sitting back down. As soon as my mind settled down I realized all I had were a few really bad bruises on my arms and legs.

Of course when my friends looked down 9 rows and saw I was okay they busted up laughing. I swear on my life if FSN had their cameras in the right place then Best Damn Sports Show would have a blooper reel to top any in a top 50 list. I looked around and saw ushers everywhere with their heads in their asses not even realizing what had happened. The only employee who noticed was that wimpy armed cheerleader who tossed me a damn wristband to make up for it. After about 5 minutes of sitting there I headed back up to my seat. I sat down and asked my friend to pass me my shirt, but wouldn't ya know, a little kid ran by and grabbed it as I was falling.

Tomorrow morning I'll be lucky to pull my ass out of bed, but in the end we had experienced something few MLB fans get to, making an insane fall and living to tell about it. Of course there are many morals to my story. The first one is that those stupid tshirts are not anything special, besides, they never fit someone my size. The second is that sometimes it's a good thing the Royals don't sell out, otherwise I might have landed on a poor old woman and decapitated her. The third and most important moral, even the men of the K Crew are still little cheerleaders.

That was you!?

I was at the game and was randomly looking up when I saw someone almost fall over the railing, holy balls, that must have been scary.

No I didn’t fall over the railing, but I slid down to it.

That was funny

Kudos for having the sense of humor to post that.

I get to make my 1st appearance at the ‘New’ K tonight – IN CROWN SEATS, so look for me on TV, we’ll be the 2 bald guys sittin next to eachother..

I caught one of those shirts once, about 10 years ago. It had a awesomely geigh picture of Sluggerrrr on it & said something typically corny like, “I caught the shirt @ the K” on it. Unfortunately, it has been lost for a long time :(

BOOM! ROASTED!

I've still got mine.

I think I wore it under something else once. It’s been hanging in the closet for a while now.

I reached over the top of some guy from the row behind and snatched it away one handed. Pretty sweet move.
