Off Day time fillers
The finger lashing I received from NYRoyal about casual fans viewing/listening of the world series got me thinking about what RR folks do on off days. I'm probably going to listen to either cleveland/NY or Stl/chicago.... my best friend is a STL guy, so it's handy to occasionaly view one of their silly pitchers hitting games, but what non-Royals game do you find most interesting today?
three more words.

Clearly, you are not one of the best fans in baseball.

On his off day...
Mike Aviles apparently goes to Jimmy John’s to grab a sandwich. Saw him coming out at lunch as I was going in to get my #11.

is that the
Italian Night Club? ’cause that is the shit of which i am speaking!
"red bull is amaZing" -Coco Crisp
I believe the 11 is also called the "Country Club"
turkey, ham, and cheese. The Italian Night Club is nice, albeit considerably more heart attack inducing.
I didn’t get to ask Mike what he and his (girlfriend, I think) had picked up.

Sorry, didn't get much of a look
Very small/petite (probably no more than 5’ 2"), dark hair, big sunglasses. That’s pretty much all I got for you.
I actually noticed her first, saw a guy that looked a hell of a lot like Aviles walking out behind her, turned to confirm that it was actually Aviles, and by then they were both gone. I’m not really a celebrity gawker-type, and I know better than to delay anyone from eating their Jimmy John’s. If I had gotten there a minute or two sooner, though, I probably would have asked Mike to sign my sandwich (paper). That would be a quality autograph.

Cardinals vs. Cubs
their fans really hate each other and I have a good friend who is a Cardinals fan, it’s just kind of fun to see the rivalry I guess

New Stadium
They’re opening up a new stadium with the last two Cy Young winners facing off, so I have to go with Cleveland vs. New York.

I hate the Braves, I hate the Astros, I hate the Indians, Yankees, Cardinals, Phillies, and Angels.
Wow, I just realized I must not like baseball.
Kansas City Royals: your 2006 and 2007 NL Central champions!
i'm not sure
i’m rooting for anyone, just want to get as much use out of my Gameday audio as possible (you know, stick it to the man)
"red bull is amaZing" -Coco Crisp
I have Extra Innings, and end up flipping back-and-forth
between whatever games are good.
Watch the intense moments, y’know?
As far as my rooting guide goes, it’s more of a who-not-to-root for more than anything:
- always root against AL Central teams (cause one of these days, that will really matter to the Royals)
- always root against the Yankees, Red Sox, Angels, Mets, Cubs, Cardinals
- nearly always root against the Braves, Phillies
- always root for the underdog
- nearly always root for the A’s, Mariners, Nats, Pirates
Yeah, that’s kinda funky, I know. But, whatever.
Most off days
My answer would be to watch the D-Backs, but they have the day off today too.

I’m not a Dbacks fan but I find myself watching them more than any other team not names Royals. Mark Grace effect
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
They are the "home" team
where I live. So, they are on all the time. Plus:
1. I moved to PHX in 2001 – the year they beat the Yanks in the Series. They got lots of bonus points from me for that!
2. I figure the only way that I’ll get to see the Royals play a World Series game in person is if they play the D-Backs. I may have to find a way back to KC for the parade though.
3. Related to #2, I followed a lot of brutal baseball in 2004 (D-Backs and Royals were the 2 worst teams in baseball). I figure that the “baseball gods” owe me and will balance things out with them being the 2 best teams (and hopefully soon).

I used to like the Dbacks
until they changed their uniforms
Kansas City Royals: your 2006 and 2007 NL Central champions!
Yeah
They were at least unique. I’m not sure that I really liked the teal blue however. They could have done better than rip off Houston’s colors.
I like some of their younger players like Conor Jackson (CoJack!), Stephen Drew (or as I call him – the good Drew brother), and Justin Upton.

I really dislike Byrnes
I think the boring uniforms and Byrnes cloud my vision for liking Drew and Upton (two players I otherwise like). I guess I dislike things about other baseball teams too easily.
Kansas City Royals: your 2006 and 2007 NL Central champions!
They showed a clip of the 2001 World Series
And I had forgotten just how ugly the D-Backs unis were back then. I thought they were hideous.

for me, the off day home team
is the Mariners. And Safeco is pretty nice to go to.

Indians are embarrassing the Yankees for the opening of the New Toilet
Their bullpen is giving it up like a drunken prom date. How can a team have a $200M+ payroll and have such a half-assed bullpen?
The immoderate moderator
I could certainly see them begging for Tejeda, or even Mahay (if he starts pitching better)
They need RHP’s, LHP’s (Marte is unreliable and Coke sucks) or even someone who can throw underhanded if necessary.

If Mahay can get it back together
this would definitely be the year to flip him, seems to me. He’s getting up there.

How about Farnsy for Nady
we’ll assume all of his medical bills if they take 2/3 of Farns contract.

I was surprised to see that I cast the first vote for that game…oops I’m lame
