Major bummer that I don't have two of these. I was hoping for a double post, which is why this is so tardy. Add in homework, driving, and meetings and well...yes :) But we're discussing a gem of a game that I am particularly proud of and think would be akin to the DDJ walk off homer from last year in terms of its importance to the direction of our team and where this franchise will be heading in the next few months/years.

You have to give it to the pitcher, Zack Greinke. His first shut out complete game that went 9 innings against one of the toughest offensive line ups in the bigs. I actually had this conversation with a friend this morning about whether or not Texas was that big of a deal 'We won two, but why does it matter, I thought Texas wasn't that good!'
Well, no, they aren't when you look at the whole package. But the fact that Greinke could hold their monster offense at bay while Milwood, the (former) 2nd best pitcher in the AL could barely hold back OUR offense? I think that speaks volumes for the ability of Zack Greinke. And he fully deserves the 3 points he's receiving for Saturday night.
Smitten Kitten
The birthday boy, Billy Butler got the first run of the game knocked in. I know, you're probably saying 'but Laura! What about Olivo's solo shot?' Well, that's why I'm giving him an honorable mention. That's just how I roll :)
The Rankings
Greinke:9
Buck: 6
Soria: 5
Davies: 3.5
Crisp: 3.5
Aviles: 3
Cruz: 3
Mech: 3
Butler: 2
Teahen: 2
Bloomquist: 1
Wright: 1
Olivo: 1
Jacobs: 1

Glad to get that cleared up
I was sitting on the edge of my seat trying to guess who took those honors for Saturday’s game ;)
Zack WPA .776
Rest of team -.276 (with 3 positives led by Billy’s .122)
Olivo should've been smitten kitten
hit the HR and Greinke gave him the credit for calling a great game.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
