This says it all.
Greinke’s curve has a violent break and his ability to control the speed of it is quite impressive. It’s been measured as low as 60 MPH and as high as 85.

This kid is amazing--we're witnessing history. I think we're going to wish that contract was for 8 yrs., not 4.

yes, but I think he'll be pretty happy it's just 4, though
nothing against the Royals, but he’s in a position where he’s got security, and will be (assuming no unforeseen injury or something) a monster free agent in 4 seasons

But it will be a very happy day when Moore signs him to a lifetime contract extension
(ok, not really)

Wait, Zack, that's not all!
How would you like a fleet of 10 brand new Cub Cadet zero turn radius riding mowers?!!!

quote from Mellinger's latest post
Apparently you have to actually give up a run to have an ERA+ that registers.
So Zack’s is just blank.
Still.
After three starts.
Because he hasn’t given up a run.
Still.

We really did sign him to a contract
At THE perfect time. Right after a solid, but not spectacular season, and seemingly just before his spectacular breakout season.

He will win the Cy Young this year
while pitching the Royals to the playoffs. It is going to be one amazing year in KC.

Boy the toolsy analysts love to jump on the Edwin Jackson train
Lots of tools-based analysts have been predicting him to breakout any year now, and of course it has never materialized. And now they feel at least partially vindicated by his 2.14 ERA start. Then of course there’s his 4.60 FIP and 4.66 tRA (106 tRA+). That’s serviceable, but nothing to write home about.
