Our Worst Nightmare: Soria Injured
Sore shoulder makes Hillman look slightly better, our team much worse...

So I know the hope with injuries is that you can wish them away when soreness starts
but were we hoping that just his presence on the roster would scare the other teams? All it did was scare them so much that they refused to go into the 9th while trailing. If they had known he was injured maybe they wouldn’t have tried so hard to take the lead! Fire Moore!

He's been warming up in the bullpen
a number of times as well.

""He went out and tested his arm (Wednesday) and it was perfect"
I admit, I don’t quite grasp the timeline either

good thing he's not a starter!
Or then we’d be in real trouble. I think the Royals’ plan of minimizing Soria’s impact has finally paid off.

I blame the 2 innings he pitched in the WBC
Mea culpa, Trey. This excuses at least some of your perceived transgressions to my Royals’ fanhood this season.

Maybe this is coming straight from the
CHTHA File.
(Cover Trey Hillman’s Ass)
If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.

Or even better...
maybe it’s Belichick-style, injury-related mindgames to mess with the Tigers. They’ll think they’ve got a chance to rally, and then suddenly, in a WWE moment, they’ll realize, “Wait, is that Soria’s music?!!”

Worst Nightmare?
I’d rather Soria than Greinke or Meche or Davies.
Not that any injury is ever good.

Calling Bullshit
this is just a way for Trey to cover his own ass, hence the non-comment by Soria

You really believe that?

It was my first thought as well.
Its just fishy. And we know the Royals love to use injuries to cover up problems in performance and make excuses. This time the problem is in the manager’s usage.
At best, this makes it look like the Royals can’t keep their pitchers from hurting themselves, even when they aren’t pitching.

I see your point
I just find it very hard to believe that they would pull Soria completely, and refuse to use him just to cover Trey’s back.
Although, i do do remeber Trey saying a few days ago he wasn’t injured….

Oddly enough
the injury only shows up during games when there’s not a traditional 9th inning, 3 out save.
Look, I think it’s a real injury, but even the biggest homer would have to admit that there something fishy about the whole thing.
- So he could warm up and get ready to come in during the games when he was injured — but since they turned out to be non-save situations, he didn’t?
- Why did this leak now, if the MRI was clean? Was it good old fashioned investigative journalism? Why not wait until Soria didn’t come in during a save situation?
- Notice how the local beat blogger bought it hook, line, and sinker. One day after writing about how the Royals need to use Soria more and consider making him a starter — Now it’s “Oh no, no way they can make Soria a starter now. And lay off of Trey!!!”

IIRC, Mexi-Q Has
A history of shoulder problems. The analysis of his mechanics predicted this; his left arm flies out in his follow-through, making stopping his pitching arm stressful. Fortunately, Zack’s motion is perfect.

on the other hand
Mark Prior also had “perfect” mechanics, according to some, although I don’t think Kyle thought so.
