props to trey hillman for b eing willing to bench jacobs against lefties. I really didn’t think he had it in him, figured we’d see him in there doing his thing 162 games this year

Hillman is weird when it comes to splits...
I think he understands how they can affect his hitters—he definitely trotted Olivo out against a disproportionate number of LH pitchers last year. But he seems to ignore them often when it comes to creating bullpen matchups.
