Albeit the back of one, on the front
Chaim Mattis Keller New York City's # 1 Royals fan!
Chills
Though, I must say, I was kinda hoping for a true to life “Action Shot” on the cover…But the portrait that he didn’t want to sit for would have been epic
BOOM! ROASTED!
I thought he played for the Dodgers

See I think that's better
I think if most people saw a generic action shot of a pitcher on the cover, they glance at it, see “Royals” or “KC” and probably summarily dismiss it. But that’s a pretty bold headline on the cover. If you’re a baseball fan at all, the words “The Best Pitcher in Baseball” are going to make you stop and take note whether you’re in New York, LA, Chicago, Tampa, Texas, etc.

That's right!
I cheer for the name on the front, not the back!
Maybe they didn’t want to show that he’s a Royal so cold and uncaring Yankee/Red Sox fans didn’t just write off the article.
BTW, did anyone see Greinke’s quotes in the Star about the SI piece…vintage Zack
I've got crazy flipper fingers!
A couple thoughts:
1. VERY glad to see that SI let JoePo do the story on him, since alot of people outside KC THINK that they know the Greinke story, but so few really do.
2. The BIG, BOLD “The Best Pitcher In Baseball” is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE to read! It’s so true, but nobody knows it.
KCsince88 - You'd LOVE Todd Reesing, then.
DolfinPhan - Doug Flutie of the future. Mark my words.
Trey-Hillman-I'm-A-Dumbfuck-Giveaway-Counter: 4 (as of April 23rd)
I wonder
If JoPo being a regular writer will lead to more SI pieces on our local teams.

Supposedly
Peter Kind was granted all-access around Pioli & crew for the Chiefs draft…expect a big story in a coming issue (if the Chefs are your thing)
BOOM! ROASTED!
too bad peter king sucks
unless he’s not the guy that had regular updates about his daughter’s highschool lacrosse team
the curse
Players whose face appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated are cursed. Since we only see the back of his head, I think we should expect a reverse curse.

i don't think
anyone in this plane of existence is prepared to see what a zack greinke reverse curse would look like

they make it like in golf
where they got the ladies tee boxes and the mens, they make a mound halfway between the existing one and second base and call it the Greinke Mound.
Come on, Annie, think of something clever to say, huh? Something full of magic, religion, bullshit. Come on, dazzle me.
Love Joe P.
Biggest Royals optimist ever, and only he could do the Zach Greinke story right.

I don't think so
It was surprisingly short for a cover article, much shorter than the article on some surfer I had never heard of that followed it.
