Forgive me if this is a duplicate post (Greinke)

I've been looking and I don't have the time at the moment to verify it.

Has any pitcher ever started a season 4-0 with 0.00 ERA?  If they did, how many IP's did they have? like 3 per game?

I've been looking for one. I started with most recent and haven't found any.  I may just not be looking in the right places; and it's possible even that there's a duplicate post on here somewhere -- that somebody already did the research and found that even though it's early, Greinke has already done something that no other pitcher ever has done.

Fernando Mania started out with 4 games of 0 ER in '85

2-2 record 33 IP 25 K’s gave up 4 earned runs and got two losses due to that.

Fernando’s start in ’81 was actually better. 7-0 63 IP 2 ER

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

yes I saw the 0.00 ERA

but I am looking for the combination

Come on, Annie, think of something clever to say, huh? Something full of magic, religion, bullshit. Come on, dazzle me.

I think ESPN said it has never happened before

I think they said Fernando was the only other pitcher to even begin the year with a 0.00 ERA after four starts.

I wonder if he had that record after 3-0

combined with the 0.00 ERA

Zakq does have another streak though

If he gets through wednesday unscathed he will be the only pitcher in history to record 7 straight starts with no earned runs.

I refuse to set up a signature....DAMMIT

okay so Fernando Skrewjeezuela

in 1981 went 5-0 through April with 1 earned run for a 0.20 ERA then went on to not lose until May 18 by that time he was 8-0 going in.

I’ve found that he did that with very little run support as well.

Then he finished the regular season at 13-7 and a 2.48.

What’s more, they went to the World Series against the Yankees.

but then the other year 1985 and the Elias Brothers quote …

http://www.truebluela.com/2009/4/25/853146/remembering-fernando-valenzuelas

they said that this is the first time in the last 55 years …

What happened 55 years ago?

1944 World series was the other

Missouri World Series wasn’t it?

Cards vs. Browns?

Watered down rosters because everyone was fighting in WWII?
