Game Thread, Anyone?
I'm stuck at work, but the volcano exploded again so we're not flying. This one is on mlbtv, but my slow-ass connection here at work won't do anything but annoying stop action. I'm listening to KCSP, which had a great local talk show on until 1000AM, and an awesome Preparation H commercial before they cut to the game. Tribute to Brett maybe?

Pretty hilariously dumb lineup
Apparently the game is blacked out for me?

How did the Royals score?
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

2-Out Rally With
Crisp delivering the bases-loaded single.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

i'm just glad
he didn’t kill the rally with a HR

Maier
is probably the only worthy bench player KC really has. Good Speed for pinch running, Lefty versus Righty PH and offers good outfield defense off the bench. Too bad he’ll probably get sent down.

He's Still Good
Insurance to have available in Omaha for the inevitable DDJ/Hoagy DL stints.

he hit with pop this spring as well
but because he has an option left, I am resigned to him coming to Omaha soon.

I hope Davies has a solid season for some weird reason
I’ve always liked him even when he was in Atlanta.

Watching Mets/Red Sox on MLB Network
Ramon Ramirez was pitching. Apparently things will be different for him going from a “second division club” to the “first division” where, “the fans care more.”

The league leading Royals. That sounds odd.

So.
What are they doing with Costa? Do they think they have to sneek him through waivers? Or are they trying to “showcase” him for a trade? For …. something?

be waived and will have to clear waivers.

So, Phil
your volcano is way out in the sticks right? I mean no real threat to populations other than sending fly ash everywhere?

It's About 50
Miles due west of Kenai, across Cook Inlet. The only real threat is to the Drift River Oil Terminal where the tankers are loaded. It’s about 18 miles from the peak, and Drift River floods with lahars after every major eruption.

nice use of geologic terms
my brother left a message on my phone today, he said he was spending the morning taking pictures of the erupting volcano. that sucker is so big that being 50 miles away doesn’t make it less impressive.

More dickery from MLB Network
They have made reference to several other clubs being “second division” and that players from those teams now playing for the redsox will be expected to do more now that they are in the “first division.” He also apparently thinks traveling to cities like Cincinnati and Pittsburgh to be payed to watch baseball is some sort of punishment.

Davies looked awesome today.
Most encouraging: 56 pitches in 4 innings. Yay.

hillman will go with the hot hand
i think he did a good job with that last year, mixing up Nunez/Ramirez/Mahay in the 8th inning role.
