Your Cliff Lee Post-Soul-Selling ERA Update: 12.60
Although, as Banny has taught us, he was pitching on the Moon today.
The weird thing is, as was the case all spring, Lee had decent control (or at least non-horrible control) walking just one and striking out five, and even though he was in Texas, there was only one HR involved. No, once again, the problem was in allowing hits...
Did something happen to Cleveland's D?
Bottom 2nd: Texas
- N. Cruz flied out to center - H. Blalock singled to third - M. Byrd doubled to deep left, H. Blalock to third - C. Davis struck out swinging - J. Saltalamacchia singled to right, M. Byrd and H. Blalock scored - E. Andrus doubled to right, J. Saltalamacchia to third - I. Kinsler singled to center, J. Saltalamacchia and E. Andrus scored - M. Young walked, I. Kinsler to second - J. Hamilton flied out to left
4 runs, 5 hits, 0 errorsCleveland 0, Texas 4

That's what happens when you make a deal with the dark side
You still pitch well, but now, now you lose
realistically speaking
Maybe he becomes 2008 Banny this year.
That would be good for us.
Only is Banny in turn
becomes 2008 Cliff Lee.
Otherwise we’re still stuck with Ponson and HoRam (until they bring Hoch back up).

I didn't want to get too optimistic.
Since he’s in Omaha.

he'll be the Cliff Lee 2008 of the 2009 PCL

Did anyone have Texas as a division sleeper?
That lineup is loaded top to bottom and in a weak-watered down division they could get midseason contributions by Holland or Feliz that could put them over the top.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
isn't that the case every year?
We always did feel the same, We just saw it from a different point of view, Tangled up in blue.

True, but...
people kept saying the same thing about the Arizona Cardinals year after year. They went from everyone’s perennial sleeper/breakout team to the team that never lives up to everyones’ sleeper-expectations to the Super Bowl.
You keep saying that kind of stuff long enough, and eventually you’ll be right.

I'm big on the Texas bandwagon
my fantasy team lineup is like half Rangers, a mistake, no doubt
But still, I think they have a legit shot
realistically speaking
i'd like to see Oakland win the division again
I really hate hate hate the Angels (who, of course, are deified by our leadership team)
I have faith in the A's
I think they’ll win the division. The Angels do not impress me.

How can people hate the Angels?
The A’s are much easier to hate. They were a rival in the 70’s and 80’s while raping us of quite a few good players at the start of this decade. Sabermetrichomerism would be the only reason to like the A’s over the Angels.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
I see the Rangers, A's and Angels
In a three way tie with about 79 wins

maybe
with Anaheim’s rotaiton hurt, there’s not clear leader.
But Feliz and Holland would really have to blow people away.

It looked like he was throwing batting practice
If he isn’t an above average SP in 2009, the Indians are in trouble, and the division gets a lot tighter.

how could I have ever thought this guy was dumb?

this picture changed my mind
At first I thought it was his elbow
because the hits started happening immediately after his elbow got hit, so I thought he was lobbing easy pitches But then I remembered it was Cliff Lee pitching.
