Hell,

Why is TPJ on the roster if we’re not going to put him in as a defensive replacement in the bottom of the ninth to protect our two run lead. Last night we subbed Bloomy in for Guillen in RF. Me, I would have put Teahen in RF, Aviles at 2B, and TPJ in at SS at the very least.

Do you think Trey is trying to show confidence in Mark at 2B?

That is one thought that I had for not moving him to RF. Who knows with Hillman but I could see that being his thought process.

Isn't Danks a lefty?

If so, I wouldn’t have minded seing Olivo DH instead of Guillen today. Though it is a day game after a night game so it makes perfect sense that he is sitting. But I like his bat against lefties better than Guillen’s bat against anybody.

I do like that Gordon and Aviles have been paired up, especially since Gordon moved up one spot in the order.

that's just one year

I talked a bit about this in my Driveline post earlier this week — everyone, especially RH hitters, tend to regress to league average splits. When you do that with Guillen’s projections — you get his career spltsi.

With his projections, though, he still projects as the second best Royals vs. RHP, Butler is #1.

I really question Trey's ability to evaluate how his players are doing.

It was clear in ST that Butler was really really struggling. He looked a little Berroa-esque to me at times. But then lo and behold there he was in the 5 spot. That to me is just not knowing your players and where they’re at.

Side note:

I dont think Zack would have normally beaned Q last night, but with Oliv0 there I would have beaned him…

just wait until this weekend

Ho Ram and Ponson should do a good job of inflating that one a bit.

Pinch hitting for Bloomquist

all of a sudden Hillman is playing offense instead of defense.

I don’t really care what he does.
