Nice title alliteration.
Bringing back the optimism, we’ve now won 2 of the last 3. Nice offensive production. Nice moves by Hilldaddy, and a stellar game for both the bullpen and the RR Rally Zoo. Enjoyable game (besides another Luke suckfest and some silly errors) Game overall:

he definitely could have caught it
we just finally got a break
realistically speaking
A couple diving catch attempts
really did the Orioles in today. First DDJ and then Buck, those plays made the difference in the ballgame. Yet, we did our best to negate those plays with some poor, poor defense. At least Hoch didn’t give up 7 or 8 runs this time.

Thumbs up for Hillman
I have to say he was right on bringing in Cruz when he did today. Nice to see him go to his best available reliever in a key spot before the 9th.
Agreed
His bullpen decisions don’t infuriate me nearly as much as they do other fans. I think since the Farnsworth debacle, he’s handled the pen well.

Agreed. And...the quick hook to bring in Tejada was nice as well.
Also…the squeeze followed by Coco stealing second showed an aggressive side to his coaching that was extremely appropriate. We had to go for the kill right there and Hillman did it. We got to give him credit in this game.

Yeah, if that had failed we'd be talking about how dumb he is
It took some balls to try it again. I’ll say that.
Not Really
No one was complaining because Hooch wasn’t inspiring anyone
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
I really liked the squeeze
I felt like it was a good time to pull it, already up a run, and with the way this team is scuffling offensively, it wasn’t a bad gamble to take at all. Sometimes smallball is warranted. Usually it is not. But sometimes it is.

I love Love LOVE
the squeeze play. I’ll trade an out for a run any day and I think a squeeze is more of a sure thing than a sac fly. I’ve been screaming at the TV since the Buddy Bell days for a squeeze play, and we finally got one! Happy me.
I've got crazy flipper fingers!
More of a sure thing
When you have a good bunter up there. I would try it would Coco or Bloomie. Probably not anyone else.

On another note...
what’s the MLB manager record for “Most Dugout Exits to Argue Calls That Do Not Result in an Actual Ejection”? Trey’s got to be getting toward the top in both career numbers and the longest streak in MLB history.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday
Trey has been kicked out of a game though, hasn’t he? I think last year he was booted once.

Not this year, though
Unless I’ve missed it. And he has to have run out to argue at LEAST five different times so far this year. Maybe more. I wish they kept stats on that.
Don’t you HAVE to get yourself kicked out eventually? He’s going to get a reputation as a paper tiger pretty soon, if he hasn’t already. I mean, kick some dirt on someone already. Throw your hat. Foam at the mouth enough to the point where there can be a legitimate argument about whether some flying spittle was intentional or not. Take one of the bases out and start carrying it back to the dugout.
If you’re going to go to the trouble of arguing a call, get your money’s worth, I say. Especially if you run all the way across the diamond. That’s a long way to go just to have a slightly heated little discussion.

this really makes me angry
how can this team win if the manager doesn’t throw a childish temper tantrum so bad that he’s asked to leave the field?
Everyone wants a leader who loses control from time-to-time.

FINALLY!!!
Made it to the K, awesome place. And I am single handedly taking credit for the win with my purchase of the rally beer right before the Royals scored 3 in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead.
Are you telling me Jesus Christ cant hit a curve ball?
great job

you deserve some credit.

If I'm not mistaken
the “regular” beers are $6 at the concession stands, or you can pay more to the aisle walkers.
Okay, I have a question about Teen Wold
outside of the obvious (how could they win when Michael J. Fox’s character can’t dribble without looking at the ball, when his jump shot is uglier than mine, etc.):
I thought Marty Fox’s character and the “evil popular guy” both went to the same high school. Is this an intramural game? And since when were intramural games that popular? With cheeleaders? (Notre Dame intramural football doesn’t count.)

why isn't she cheering in the last scene?

i believe Fox had rather pointlessly dropped her at that point
and gone with his much less attractive, tomboyish “true love”, because he realized the blonde didn’t want him for him or something
its an 80s movie
But unlike most 80s teen movies
the tomboy was not secretly better looking than the pretty girl (who was the star of the school play, not a cheerleader).

but which school?
Are you thinking of the Skiing South Park or not?

OK
This is so far off topic and a non-sequitur of such massive magnitude and immense proportion that you guys owe the rest of us a very yummy high quality drink for putting up with it. I’ll take mine in either a Great Divide Hercules Double IPA, a Sapphire and tonic, or a Maker’s Mark manhattan. Thank you very much, in advance.
I’ll be in KC from 5/24 to 5/31 to collect.

Raquel Welch, Salma Hayek, Elizabeth Hurley, Diane Lane, Audrey Tautou, Alyssa Milano, Jessica Alba.

Pretty sure she was both
A cheerleader, and in the school play. As someone who was in musicals I can vouch for the fact that some girls actually did both. God bless them…

I believe Teen Wolf
Holds the record for most bewildering inaccuracies, inconsistencies and errors in a single film. Its like the people that made it had never seen a high school basketball game before. Isn’t there a scene where a guy is taking a free throw and an opposing player is standing underneath the basket? Dear lord.
And did you catch the infamous “extra exposing himself in the background during the final scene” or do they edi tit out now?

I liked that in the big game musical montage
They show the same play three or four times — guy on Teen Wolf’s team swat blocks a shot from behind, Michael J. Fox leads the fast break, and then Fox makes a behind the back pass to a trailing teammate for the score. I could not tell if it was the same video replayed three or four times, or just different takes of the same play.

I cannot disparage Teen Wolf too harshly...
for despite all its various faults, it has given me the three rules by which I have lived my life since I first saw the movie at age 8 (granted, some of them were more confusing than others at that point):
1. Never get less than 12 hours sleep;
2. Never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and
3. Never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger anywhere on her body.
Thank you, Coach Finstock. Thank you. And yes, my life has pretty much been cream cheese ever since then.

The incongruities and cheap production values only add to the movie's charm
Let’s just hope Hollywood preserves Teen Wolf’s good name by not attempting a sequel* or remake.
*Teen Wolf Too never happened. I repeat, it does not exist.
