Odd Man Out-Book Review

Just finished this book tonight and I thought I would let you know that it was a very enjoyable read. The author was a minor league pitcher in the Angels system and it chronicles his time there. For Royals fans AC was on his team and what he does/ the way he acts is very comical. If you were ever wondering what it is like to play minor league ball you should pick this up.

I remember hearing about this when it came out

seems there are numerous factual …issues.. with the book, dates, etc.

I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at Driveline Mechanics.

I didn't find anything to outlandish

At the end when he gets released Tony Reagins cries through the whole thing. That seems a like it could be a little fabricated but then again it would be tough to kill someones dreams. Also Bobby Jenks comes across like an asshole-so that’s true enough for me.

some of the dates and stuff just don’t match up with records… for a guy who (I think) claims he was keeping a journal, I’d think that creates credibility problems. But again, I’m just remembering what I read a month or two ago
