Selig telling clubs to curb draft bonuses...or else get a talking to

8
Bud Selig has repeatedly cautioned clubs about the economy, and at the owners’ meeting last Thursday he told them he was doing something about it and sternly advised them to listen. The commissioner told the owners that his office planned to roll back the recommended signing bonuses for the June 9 amateur draft by 10 percent. Bonuses are only going to go up--starting with Strasburg's deal which will probably redefine draft bonuses. Is Bud just looking for ways to be seen as irrelevant and out of touch? Maybe he should schedule a national security speech directly after the Presidents next time?
