Is anyone else listening on MLB At Bat (mobile phone Gameday/radio feed app)...

and hearing one half of a random business-related telephone conversation in the background? Or is that just me? It’s on both the KCSP and Detroit radio feed. This is REALLY weird.

the Royals defense is bad.

i know it’s obvious and was predictable, but it’s painful to watch. they have one decent arm in the outfield, but it’s attached to a set of legs cast in concrete. the two guys with range have terrible arms. the infield is a disaster.

How would you align a football field in the K?

would you put the party porch by the endzone? or the HOF?

this is only relevant in the case that Arrowhead is hit by an asteroid

by BHWick on May 27, 2009 4:40 PM EDT reply actions

It was a rolling roof for Arrowhead and the K

It would have sat between the stadiums when not used.

Original rendering

The redone version was supposed to be more futuristic looking, and mostly glass/plexiglass. But it’s the same basic principle in place since the late 1960’s.

Well boys, at least we put up a fight.

3 runs is a mighty big ol’ number, so we can’t say we didn’t try. Not much more you can do but rack up 3 big ones and hope you can hold on.

would indeed love to see a rally here...

esp to get Davies off the hook for the loss.

he pitched really well, just didn’t get the run support he would have needed (i.e. 9 runs).

Kyle Davies has now had

close to 90 starts in the bigs….does anyone seriously think it’s going to get any better? He’s a 4.75/NL—5.00/AL pitcher….if you’re ok with that as your # 5, fine…..
But I tire of these “he’ll only get better with more experience” comments…
no…he….will….not……

by Gload on May 27, 2009 5:12 PM EDT reply actions

Someone said last night that the Royals are a .500 team and we should get used to it.

Um, I actually think that they’re a sub-.500 team that had a hot run to start. It seems like every time out they’re more than likely going to lose and when they do win it’s because a lot of things had to go their way (in games no including Greinke). Right now they are a Greinke away from dead last place. Hard to have someone on your team mean THAT much because if something happens, you’re toast.

by Uscbalto on May 27, 2009 5:36 PM EDT reply actions

Oh yeah there's not a doubt about that.

23 wins as a team.

Greinke, 5 of those are complete game wins. 3 more on top of that he handed to the pen. 8 of 23 wins, clearly better than a third of your wins that were nothing but Greinke.

24 of your losses? only 1 Greinke loss. I think there was a no-decision in there where he gave them the lead and they blew it. (he does have ten starts doesn’t he?)

The Greinke losses will happen. Unless this team gets better (or Greinke gets better, which may happen) the averages will catch up and NYRoyal will be correct. Zack will finish at about 16-8 and in the running for the Cy Young still.

And the team will finish 81-81, or even 79-83. But if it were 84-78, there would still be comments saying that the season sucked. All those records are improvements, and I’d take any of them.

Yeah? From what I hear, you couldn't hit water if you fell out of a f@#%ing boat.
