Royals Have Second Largest Increase in Attendance in the MLB so far this Season
Nice article and chart by Sky Kalkman at Beyond the Box Score. The Royals are beaten out in their "absolute" percentage increase only by Florida (~!) and are ahead of the Rays, coming off 2008's "surprise" AL Championship. The Royals went up 10% from last season. Keep in mind that attendence is down, on average, by 10% per team.
I'm just happy David Glass is finally seeing a bit of reward after to decades of pouring his heart and soul into making the Royals the best team they can possibly be. I'm sure Dayton Moore's admonition to the fans to "be better" helped, too.
Well, that and Willie Bloomquist.

It's the Bloomquist Bump!!!
See, loyal2sdad, KC has hardcore baseball fans. They just prefer gritty utility players who “play the game the right way” that they can see play every day vs. the “hotshot young ace pitcher” they only get to see every so often. Just a little harmless difference in baseball taste. All is right with the world.
